I got it pops
Shropshire lass my pinny has lots of little knives and forks on it
Well done Fuddle:j
It may help you regarding your other plans...gives you something else to do during school terms and to think about. Perhaps some other jobs may come up at the school you can do instead of or as well as. It's another string to your bow, another skill, funny to think with your OS skills you probably could teach the cooks a thing or two...:)
Foot in the door...Wish you'd been on duty when I was at school I suspect you'll be very good with children or is it teenagers?
Bit annoyed about having to use taxis this morningh to the Dr's and home...could have spent that towards shopping instead...
May have another look out just for the sake of it, I avoided going to Aldi and just purchased some bread earlier...might have to try and bake my own soon...but I wonder still if for me I am better buying it...it lasts a few days or whether it would cost me more in electric via the HO, MWC?
Perhaps I can do without the little sewing machine...and still manage to do my ham fisted sewing...
peony40 if you only do small quick meals you might get away with one of those small grill/ovens.
At least all these gadgets are smaller than a big oven on a cooker...of course if you cook a few things at once, then the normal oven will be fine...
Shropshirelass glad you got sorted at your hospital appointment...
My Dr said I should take anti inflamatory tablets but they have risks when you have kidney troubles...so I am trying the pain killers I have at home hoping they'll work if not...
He thinks it will go away in a few days.
I contacted my consultant when I got home, he says I can take anti inflamatory tablets if I only take them for a short time...but we'll see if I can manage without. My bloods aren't bad and I don't want to make things worse. We all blame AI tabs for my problem in the first place...when I had a very bad back but to this day I don't know if I was prone to them causing my condition or I took to many. But the consultant has told me not to take them ever again...until today:p
The gout has probably been caused by the diuertics I take for water retention so I'll see if I can reduce what I take for a few days..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

That sounds so cute.
Really a good idea too, for the children to recognise you.
Are you saying you have a 3 bedroomed house?
Fraid so...but small properties are few and far between, they really are...so I am not being awkward...ducks and waits for some flack coming my way...
Wonder if I could get a lodger in? I have heard that some HA's do allow you to have someone share property...something to look into perhaps...
Most know that and my neighbours would love me to stay put and hope that I can but if I do decide to go I'm giving myself a little time to get used to things and then will see what to do perhaps in the New Year...
mcculloch29 and Fuddle can varify the situation in my town and yes I am in a lovely area. I do worry where I may end up..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Welcome peony
Byatt I think a dinner ladies is a person who dishes out the meals where as a dinner nanny is a person who looks after the children while they eat/play... I'm officially a dinner nanny:j
I can't start till my CRB check is through though, which could be anything from a couple of weeks to a couple of months. Sooner the better... and guess what, it's right up my street - I have to wear a pinny:j
:T Glad that you'e de-cloaked peony40 and looking forward to reading your posts. I did say I'm soliciting chocolate in these situations, didn't I..............?I have a new mobile phone. The old one finally karked it at nearly 6 years old so I've dropped £23 on a new one and had the guy at the shop pop my existing PAYG sim into it so I don't have to use a new number. Took me three months to memorise the last one and I can't face the trauma of a new one.
I'm having tea. There are two bags in the pot. I can only recall putting one in but I may have put in two, or maybe left the previous one in there (yeuch). So tired again that I cannot begin to guess. It's drinkable.
It has been persisting down here for 8 hours with strong winds and I really don't want to hear about yet another blocked gully or leaking gutter today................:rotfl:and branches off trees and floods and all sorts. And to think that this Spring I was contempating a 3rd allotment water butt since two were barely enough last year.
I was riffing on the horribleness of the slugs to my Dad and he said he didn't think I ought to go up to the lottie on my own, I should have an escort in case the slugs were to gang up on me. Let's just hope they don't make a treaty with the snails or I shall really be scuppered..............
Ooof, trying to get my brain in the game. Going to see some of the other threads.
PAH, can I be nosy and ask if your HA handed over your data?
EEEK ! Thanks for the heads-up. I shall be up there tomorrow with the Jiffy.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

 Thats the start! Hit people where it hurts why dontcha Sainsburys! It might be a reflection of that possibly they've seen a higher demand for them and decided to try to cash in a bit?0 -

No flack just that you hadn't mentioned it before and advice is being given based on what you have said here, so I guess we all assumed it was 2 bedroomed. Of course it makes a difference in the decision making regarding the bedroom tax if there are 3 bedrooms.
I know small properties are few and far between wherever you are.0 -

It has been mentioned but thank you for understanding the difficulty I am in...it would be tough but if income says similar I probably could stay put and absorb the costs but I dislike it being spent on what it would be...so chances are I will be looking to relocate...wish I could win the lottery, don't we all...
Then again Mum's savings could mean I could stay put for nearly two years but it would be awful seeing it not being put to better use..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

So pleased for you Fuddle :T
Having one of those days where I can't seem to stop snapping at everyone and everything, it just want everyone to be quiet for half an hour so I can get my head straight.
Went to town, DD2 asked for a decent waterproof coat for school, she's realised that she'd rather be warm and dry than "fashionable" (not that I consider her school uniform fashionable but you know what I mean). Got myself a new coat too, water and wind proof but not padded (I prefer layers to a thick coat). Popped to Mr A for inspiration for dinner (forgot to get anything from the freezer) and found some YS bargains, huge pack of diced turkey thigh from £4.29 down to £1.49 (currently simmering in a curry sauce), strawberries reduced from £2 to 49p and stewing beef £4.89 down to £2.19. Fuddle - congratulations on the job :j
PAH - thanks for the info about the heatingand yes it's an immersion heater
OH is gigging so I decided to paint the end wall in the kitchen,a very fetching shade of red! OK,it makes the room look smaller but boy! does it wake you up when you go in:D
Not sure what OH's reaction will be,lol.Hmmm, just a thought, isn't red supposed to stimulate the appetite? Oh dear,we both need to drop a few pounds!Give without remembering, receive without forgetting.0 -
Congratulations fuddle! So pleased for you, and for the littlies you'll be supervising - love the sound of your pinny too!
Peony, as a single person I saved a lot on cooking when I changed my full size gas cooker for a halogen (also use a SC and microwave). Not sure about two people, though.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.
