:hello: Hello and welcome Iris and Jenny and anyone else I've missed. I have ME and am at a certain age, so some days I'm liable to forget my own name...........:rotfl:Hello Everyone
Just thought I would pop in and explain my absence!
Went for a growth scan on baby Pea and "it" measures quite a lot smaller than it should and hadn't grown at all since last. Got to gofor another next week and if its not grown again they may well decide to deliver early. So Ive been told to rest lots and stay on my left side as much as possible, hence not much time on computer!Take care of yourself and the Pea, hun.
stiltwalker wrote: »GQ - re the putting things in inappropriate places, know exactly what you mean, when I was pregnant with DD I ran a tea room and I was forever trying to put the butter and the salad mix etc in the oven and the things that needed cooking into the fridge!!!
Not quite sure it has gone away entirely as I can still try to put the shopping away in daft places. So glad it's just common or garden exhaustion, not unique to me! Went to bed about 9.30 pm and slept until 3am, then again until 6 am. Tired little bunny or what? Feeling a bit better or I was until I looked at the laundry load I washed yestereve and is on the airer; 5 work blouses needing ironing. S'not fair.
Today I'm aiming to be at a store which has a very tasty sale on at 9 am and get new LED bike lights and a new lid. With change from £15 I believe..............hope they haven't sold out. THen I shall double-back via the GP to drop a prescription in and book my MOT. Well, the special lady MOT if you know what I mean. Such fun - not!
Have a good one, people, catch ya laters.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Finger crossed little pea has grown by next week Pip's Mum, otherwise you'll be meeting each other early....try and rest. DD came early, was only 5lb 12oz and is now 7 wearing age 9 clothes so it didn't affect her at all.0

Got all excited by Martins email and belted over to M&S outlet for the sale - all I can say is if I was a size 12 or a 20 I'd be very happy, but I'm a 14
Is anybody noticing other people buying up lots of food? In a way I suppose this gives the shops an excuse to put up stuff that would'nt need it, they can lose it in the general flurry of increases.
What about winter crops, like leeks and turnips - anything being said on stuff like that? I wish I had started off some leeks now, they were lovely last time I did them and handy in soup. Suppose they would've been washed away in the monsoon. Gawd what a wet year this was.0 -
Pips Mum:- Goodness what a worry for you! Not sure how many weeks you are/how early delivery would be? I know it's not easy to put your feet up when you have a toddler but take every moment you can. :grouphug:
Popperwell:- I don't know why, but the bedroom tax will not affect those who are in private landlord property. So, if you are looking around this might be an option for you, because if you take a two bedroom property you will not be penalised.
Brain fog....DD and I have found that she can remember what I have forgotten and I can remember what her Pregnancy brain has forgotten. It's a strange and funny transference! :AGive us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”0 -
I must go a see if it is on order at the library *claps*
Edit..
Yes, so it has now been ordered by me :-)
Me too, orderedalthough it says waiting for delivery. I doubt I'm first in the queue anyway.
I don't think it's too late to plant turnips mar I sowed them last week but I have not got the foggiest what I'm doing in the garden so please don't take my word for it.
I'm going to do a basics order of around £25 to be delivered. I'm not due a big shop till 15th Sept but I feel I need to, whether rightly or wrongly  still, food is the most basic investment, no?0 -
Thanks everyone for your reassuring storys and nice words. I am 33 weeks now so it would be a few weeks early but better out than in sometimes hey! Pip was 9lb 4oz so concept of a small baby is a strange one!!

That's because we are already affected Meme. We get a little bit of HB (well actually it's called LHA for private tennants) and although we live in a 3 bed house we only get the applicable amount for a 2 bed as we only have 2 kids and as they are both under 10 it is deemed that they can share. They actually do for the moment but we are hoping that one or other of their mobility improves sufficiently for them to go into the attic bedroom at some point otherwise OH and I will go up there and one of the kids can have our room when they need a bit more space. It's fine at the moment as they only sleep in their bedroom but once they want to play up there they will need a bit more space. We moved here when we did as 3 beds in our village are as rare as the proverbial rocking horse poop so we wanted to grab this one when it came up. We were also struggling for room downstairs terribly in the old place and tbh we'd never have fitted all the kids necessary equipment in there.
Well we were expecting to go to nursery again today for another practice session but DD's 1 to 1 not in and we didn't want to confuse her with a different member of staff yet so will have to think of some nice indoors activities to do until either the dratted rain clears up or it's time for my dentist appointment. Will be able to nip into the library on the way now as not coming straight from nursery.0 -

I started a reply and then noticed Stiltwalker's post. In private renting, you have the LHA as Stilt said, so if you have one bedroom or 10 you only get the one bedroom rate if there's only one of you, for instance. That's why I moved from a 2 bed to a 1 bed as couldn't afford the 2 bed anymore when DD left home, very suddenly and without warning...to move in with BF.0 -
Right now, right in this moment of time, sitting in the sun for a couple of weeks and doing nothing but raise my arm to put a drink to my lips, sounds positively fanbloodytastic...:rotfl::rotfl:
and yep, I've experienced different cultures /countries, not as many as I'd like, but still...wouldn't have missed it for the world.
Yes me too. Just sitting and doing nothing. Tried it for an hour last week, but still had that feeling that I should be doing something - slightly agitated feeling, you know?
DOn't get me wrong, I have had fantastic holidays and I love them - never regretted a single penny spent. But sometimes I think it would be nice to slow down somewhat..
Ungrateful or what?In which case I could offer you freshly made pain au choc, with callebaut batons and I'm looking for [STRIKE]mugs[/STRIKE] volunteers to test drive some lemon posset filled chocolate cups (with raspberry fondant and chocolate ganache ones to follow, when I finish working out the recipes) - chocolate I can do, its just tea that never seems to work.

FIVE SHIRTS??????? FIVE???? :rotfl: You should see my ironing pile!!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: In fact I thought I should probably spend the next 3 or 4 days doing an hour or so a day and I might get through it - no kidding!!
Morning all - and especially new people. Nice to see the introductions thing has flushed you out!
I am working at home today - and I might actually have to do some work!THey still owe me a couple of lieu days actually so I think today will be one of those. We have men in, so I have to be here for providing tea and coffee purposes. They are installling a new conservatory roof. It isn't fun spending a lot of money on something you already have. Unfortunately the life of polycarbonate is a short one and ours was on borrowed time and decided to start leaking and falling off. So we now have a nice shiny glass one and will be <<whisper>> several thousand pounds worse off.
Still it would have to be replaced if we moved, so we might as well get the benefit - it should keep heat in in the winter and out in the summer and so the whole thing should be more useable.
Still busy busy. DD is doing her lifeguarding fingy, DS has been invited skiing by a friend (indoor skiing - I know it's cold, but.. ) so he is off shortly. I have to do some work for work, some work for my Korean teaching trip, juggling laundry, ironing (;)), and making some curtains. Really I just want to sit and make the curtains and finish knitting my summer jumper, thanks to my Korean trips I might get to wear it. And making tea / coffee for "the men".
I also need to sort out the store cupboard and stock take the freezers. Steve the Beko still needs defrosting - as he has since christmas and I still can't get him empty enough to do it. I even had to throw a chicken carcass the other day as I couldn't freeze it, have a freezer full of stock and soup. Forgive me MSE ers, i have sinned. The other freezer is full of runner beans :rotfl:
I am thinking I will stock up on flour (so need space to do the 24 hour freeze thing), pasta, and some tinned goods. We don't eat a lot of rice but will get a bit. Cheese has been on good offers lately so I have rather a lot of that, although DD wants Mac and cheese for tea. I wonder if cereal has a longish date? What is the oat situation - are they in short supply? Talking of cereal, I bought a couple of packs of "variety pack" when we were on holiday - they were on offer and I wasn't sure what FN (fave niece) liked. I had some cornflakes out of it today, thought it didn't look much in the bowl and checked it's weight. 17 grammes it holds!!!:mad: How on earth is that supposed to fill anyone up?? RIdiculous.
Take it easy Pip's mum. I had an emergency dash with DS at about 35 weeks. It came to nothing and he was born 2 weeks late weighing nearly 10lb - 7 weeks with my feet up, I was going out of my mind with boredom, even with DD to look after.
Ah well time to make "the men" another cuppaI wanna be in the room where it happens0
