They have mentioned food hikes again on the radio...
Now here's a funny one...
I don't know why but radio 4 Sunday Morning did a programme on a farm where they milk...Sheep!

Fuddle don't panic, it will get filled bit by bit, just go and buy some basics - for £1 you can put in 5 tins of Mr S Potatoes for emergencies and will take up some space to stop you feeling its so bare, or basics teabags £1.04 for 4 boxes.Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

I shouldn't be panicking as I've got the understairs cupbOard full but you know what I'm like.
It's destined for beans, bread flour, UHt and powdered milk. Once I have those in I'll Be alright.
Sorry about the naff typos. I'm on phone and hopeless0 -
I got my book of the upcoming series The Wartime Farm today. It is absolutely brilliant :T:T:T
Mine's on it's way - I can't wait!0 -
welcome Iris - you are really lucky having such an early diagnosis as some things can be put in place now, as D&DD says its all about early intervention, my DS8 was only officially diagnosed this year and my other DS14 is still awaiting official diagnosis.
Can I recommend you contact your local carers centre if you havent already they will be able to point you to support groups on your area who can help you find the right people to be speaking to in order to get the right help.
Pops - this was the point I was clumsily trying to make yesterday, we we happily rented a house for ten years and whilst it was cold, and not in good condition it was home and we were settled. We never considered moving and having had money problems we genuinely believed we would never get a mortgage. Then out of the blue we were served eviction as the house was being brought back into use as tied housing. I cannot describe the feeling, devastation doesnt cover it.
Thankfully we discovered (which we would never have thought to do) that we were actually mortgageable and after moving into a "temporary" house for 18 months we finally moved here. But I still cannot drive past the old place without upset, resentment and other stuff, yes I know we are better here, its a much nicer area etc and its ours (well the banks) but I am still working through the upset of being forced to move..
That was three years ago now. If moving is likely it is so much better to do it by choice on your own terms than be forced into it.
If you do decide to stay then maybe you should look at other ways of making it possible - lodgers, supported lodgings like smiley does (although maybe not smelly ones!!) or something similar.
Pips mum - take care, and try not to worry too much, my eldest was induced at 37 weeks when I had pre-eclampsia, the doctor said at the time, no point waiting baby hasnt grown since last exam anyway!! She was born 5lb 5oz and was fine, they put it down to the pre eclampsia.
GQ - I dont have ME and there are days I do all that too, particularly the walking into doorframes and the putting the washing in the fridge!!
Nuatha - Yes please!
Have had a mega busy day, took DS to his appointment, only to discover his key worker was off so we were sent home. Raced to shops on mission to buy toothpaste, bought 8 types, DS had grudgingly accepted one as its the only one that doesnt make him gag.
Bought OH cards and present and then dragged DD off for shoes, oh my I had forgotten how busy shoe shops were at this time of year, finally sorted, one very happy little girl.
Raced to do food shopping and finally reached home at 5.30pm utterly shattered and totally forgetting was supposed to collect the forms fpor my tests from GP. Ooops.
Three big days out for next three days so aiming to be fully organised - seems set for tomorrow at least.
Front page of one paper today - Food Prices due to Hike. so word is out now.0 -
Fayhare, welcome and thanks for the linky, thats fab, OH is ex army and loves the gear as it lasts years, he is in need of some woolies etc so the prices are wonderful
Pips Mum take it easy hunny, feet up and do as you are told. My Ds was emergency C section at 32 weeks and was 5lb, despite a few scary weeks he is now 30 and built like an outhouse door and is wondeful too.
Added another pack of tea bags during a whistle stop tour of Mr S, I have days when I can pop in lots of places while OH waits in the car so am a fast precise shopper - whoa betide anyone who wants to ask me about my leccy bill or credit card supplier  and I have been known to propel old ladies gently but quickly to one side in my efforts to grab products - TBh they really dont notice they just think their blood sugars made them speed up :rotfl:
Now I have a days respite tomorrow and intend to use every minute of it except for a very long lie inClearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
Does anyone have any shopping suggestions for gettting long winter nighties? I am talking more grandma than sex symbol
I get freezing in bed but hate wearing stuff on my legs. I am fairly short so 3/4 ones would be fine too.
Bon Marche...I purchased 6-7 for Mum at the insistance of the SW/DN. They were not very expensive either..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

GQ - re the putting things in inappropriate places, know exactly what you mean, when I was pregnant with DD I ran a tea room and I was forever trying to put the butter and the salad mix etc in the oven and the things that needed cooking into the fridge!!!
Not quite sure it has gone away entirely as I can still try to put the shopping away in daft places.0 -
Wartime Farm book on its way here too... Last time the book wasn't released until the series had started, they are getting in early!!Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0
