Lisakay, hugs to you. I had to have a colposcopy earlier this year. I went to St Mary's and the nurses who did it were lovely, couldn't have been more gentle or reassuring.

Kidcat you absolutely must, must, must go and have a smear test. It could save your life. And whilst you're there, your back could 'seize up' and then the doctor would HAVE to see you .....

    Byatt hugs to you too.

Greyqueen, better keep an eye on nursey - she might nick your trolley and then you would be bereft ....

Well, none of the bigger removal firms I e-mailed for quotes about shifting my bookcases have bothered to get back to me. I suppose it's too small a job for them. So I have gone with a local man and van service. I'm a bit nervous as he wasn't English so he struggled a bit to understand on the phone. I have texted him the pick up address and my address so I guess I just have to have a little faith. He seemed nice enough and keen, unlike the other guy I phoned who sounded like he couldn't care less.

Well, I'm zonked so I think it's time for bed. Sweet dreams all xx.

hope you get your bookcases, smiley x
having it done at trafford general. I'm not at all worried about the procedure, just possibly a little bit concerned about what they may find. time will tell, so will just plod along and forget about it for a while now I've had a 'talk' about it. I've told DH and DM about it, but don't want to really go into it with them as I'm the one who doesn't worry. After all, why waste energy on things you can't change when there are so many things you can.:D

Off to have some cheesy beans on toast for supper, because I forgot to eat tea. I might even scramble an egg or two, oooh and some fried mushrooms . G'night all xx

Back when I had cars, I was shopping at the very bottom of the market and having to be v.careful. I was extolling the virtues of my latest Fiesta to a pal inc absence of rust and low mileage and he said Never mind all that, what colour is it?!

All the best people name their stuff, dontcha know. Mum's washer is called Charles III. Her first automatic washer was a Carlton = Charlie. It was replaced by a Zanussi, which didn't lend itself to nicknames, so it was Charles II. The current and ailing incumbent is a Bosch and is Charles III. She's hoping to have a Miele next time but she can't call it Millie or I'll get confused because that's what I call my fridge.

One of my old cars was called the Killer Tomato........it had to be seen to be believed............:rotfl:

One of my Dad's cars was N... TCU so it was called Brucie. Another was Mup - all to do with their registrations.
DD2's 1st car was Chloe, because my Mam thought that was the type of car - it was a Clio! Her new one is Chloe 2.
The clothes thingy in the garden is Whirlygig. Sorry - not very exciting! And ALL spiders around here are called Fred.
GQ - I would LOVE a trolley, but I think my family would well and truly disown me :( But on the other hand....

Hugs and positive thoughts, Lisakay. I do hope that cancellation comes through.

I kept putting off my appointment, no reason why, other than knowing the arthritic hip would make it a bit awkward. Finally my daughter caught sight of a reminder letter with a 'last date of test: 2006' on it and ticked me off! The hip wasn't too bad and I was hugely relieved when all was well.

There was a tale told over on the toiletries thread by a lady who, in her words, "got the thing airborne" when someone unexpectedly tried the door, just as the nurse had got her ready ...

Lisakay sending hugs and healing, hopefully at most it will turn out to be a cyst. I thought if they really suspected anything nasty they had to fast track you, they did with me a few years ago but that was ahem my upper female parts, turned out to be a cyst, but saw dr on Monday and had it removed following Monday with various tests in between.

You have reminded me that my smear is due, I did make an appointment for last month but cancelled and totally forgot till now, so better do some booking tomorrow as have had biopsy in past and laser treatment, but been on 2 yearly for past 4 years now.

Kidcat I hope you are sleeping peacefully now, but if it is tramadol do make sure you eat something with them, they are great and do help but can cause upset tums. I managed to stick with them for 5 years even though they were not really helping much as did not want to move to stronger but last year had to give in with no only pain being worse but within 20 mins of taking them I was sick. You fight and fight against taking stronger but sometimes you just have to do so, am glad you gave in instead of continuing to fight but so sorry you had to because pain was so bad.

GQ I adore your trolley and name........I just have a tartan cheapo one, but as hubby refuses to be seen out with me with any trolley and nowadays I never go shopping on my own it lives in the hall with bottles of water in it. She for to me my trolley is a she is over 10 years old and called Hen ( Glaswegian word for a woman).

Smileyt hope your bookcases arrive ok.

Our present car is called Pippa- orange car and oranges have Pips, hubby always names the cars, although our campervan was called Betsy, cannot explain why but minute I went inside her I just knew Betsy was her name.

    Minds gone blank so

To everyone else sending you all lots of love and hugs xxxxxx

Lisakay:- I hope your ok and that everything turns out well. It's impossible not to worry, but as you say, you just have to wait and see. Everyone here is sending good wishes. vibes. healing and cake! :grouphug:

Sad person that I am, I have got up this morning and stood and admired my clean oven! It says a lot about it's usual [STRIKE]scruffy[/STRIKE]uncared for condition. :rotfl:

I am spending the day with my Mam 73, my Gran 91, DD 29 and 30 weeks pregnant and three Grandchildren aged 2x5 and 3! We are picking up Mam, going to Gran's and walking to the 'restaurant shop' as my GDD calls it. She means Mo**isons!:)
I will return in a sweaty heap mainly due to the 'olds' rather then the GCH! My Gran swans along ..very slowly, and my Mam get exasperated because Gran like to do her own thing. She still has all her buttons thank goodness. I think my Mam feels that Gran should do as she is told, and Gran just twinkles and ignores her!.It's an odd power conflict and I know my Mam worries and fusses because of Gran's age and frailty. (She got blown over by the wind this year!)

I feel so lucky to still have them both, and it's lovely that my Grandchildren will know and remember Gran. They only met DH's parents as babies, so will only remember them from pictures.:( Gran of course, loves our visits and showers them in sweeties, and lets face it that's what Grans are for!:D

i am going for "Portia" for the trolley. As it is the sports version.

we name everything too. car is Rufus, cos its red. but was nearly Geoff cos registration is GF. fridge is Steve cos its a Beko and sewing machine Shirley cos its a singer. Magimix is Maggie (thats boring isnt it) and the bookcase is Julian which is far too long a story for me to type on my phone.

kids have banned me from getting a trolley but i want one. saw one i Paris earlier on this year which was shiny flourezcent yellow with a big smiley face on - they said i could have that but wouldnt have been able to get it home.

still in my welsh field. wish the sheep would quieten down. having a fab time doing not much. its cheap anyhos.

    dreaded results tomorrow

DS1 has actually pulled the trolley for short distances this year ;-) last year it was only DS2 that would pull it. I did get a black trolley which looks like an oversized sports bag, rather than a tartan one!

mardatha I got the wool and the soap and bath melts today. They are gorgeous. Many, many thanks :D

I have a set of sparkly fairy wings and a black feather boa. They are tucked into the back of the wardrobe along with my good corsets. I really must wear them more often. It will embarass DH and the monsters if nothing else. Also my wearing a corset produces a shelf effect that is useful for storing pens and money which is useful and having a cleavage like that is a wonderful distraction from my thighs :rotfl:

I've been to the Doctors and got more blood pressure meds. I also plucked up the courage to mention my depression. I will make an appointment and go and have a proper chat about it. Good news is that I haven't gained the weight I thought i had and have actually lost a little bit. I really must get over my block about going to the gym.

This afternoon I have to take DS2 to get a new blazer and hooded top for PE. He needed a 38 inch chest last time, so no idea if they will have one to fit. He needs extra length in the arms rather than extra space in the body. Its my former neighbour's 80th birthday tomorrow so I must remember to get her a card and some flowers. DH is off work tomorrow so we will go with another neighbour to visit her.

Is anyone else a nervous wreck waiting for their DS/DD's GCSE results? I think I need to start dosing myself up with Kalms in the hopes of getting some sleep tonight.

    Time for lunch xxx

I've had meat in the freezer for over a year and it's still been fine.

By advising that you only freeze it for "x" amount of months/weeks is just their way of trying to get more money from people that think products will go from fine to indelible at the stroke of midnight.

Loving the trolly, some snazzy ones on their web site and not a bad price really, considering how much it will save your health and sanity.

Been busy having a spring clean, sorted loads of stuff out for our garage safari bootsale next month, the whole village gets involved and you set your stall up on your drive, saves loading and unloading the car. Have told DDs that if they man the stall all day they get to split the profits between them towards their winter clothes/shoes (money I would have spent on them anyway but this gives them a bit of impetus to try harder on the stall)

Results day here tomorrow for DD1, DD2 sat part of her maths GCSE too but won't get the results until school starts again which is a pain. Have booked to take DDs, DD1s boyfriend and another friend of their out for dinner tomorrow night. Some of DDs friends are being given £100 for each grade above a C, madness. We've brought her a pair of earrings as a "well done" token and I'm popping off tomorrow morning to get some "well done" balloons done and off the the restaurant as a nice surprise. I feel that's quite extravagant enough.

I told DS1 I'd buy him a games workshop figure case - about £60 - if he did as well as he could.

Well I've woken up to the local radio saying English results are down from expected grades from mocks & also in schools that got great results in English A levels last week. I also dreamed I'd had to take my exams again & failed English...

Can you guess what DS1's weakest subject is? (Apart from Art, but that's not needed for getting into the A level program.) Stress! I'll be really disappointed if he does fail, as he has done a lot to pull it up.

Hugs to Lisa & Byatt, hope all goes well.
