Wow some fabulous results - really well done:T:T:T
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Love the double slanket, ordered one for when we sit on our swing and watch the stars.

    DD1 did so well :j 1 A, 3 B's, 4 C's and 2 D's - the D's were expected as they were subjects she didn't want to take. She's so, so pleased and we're so, so proud. :T

Well done all - and well done to us for surviving thus far!

DD got 6A's and 3 A*s so very proud. I am a bit miffed that her friend got an A* in drama and DD didn't, but I am just being picky.

    Proud Momma :D

Congrats to all the proud Mummies on here

Kidcat, hope you feel better soon.

possession, if nothing else the slanket could be chopped up and used to line the curtains, it looks like an amazing amount of fleece for £4! I use fleece for everything nowadays as its so versatile and cheap. Everytime one of the family mention going to Ikea I ask them to pick me up a fleece blankie :rotfl:

All quiet here today, OH not too good, very frustrated with his lot but also realising it could be worse, if you get my drift. He even suggested we go to my Mums tomorrow after his blood test so he must be in need of her potato hash :)

Lisakay, hope all goes well hunny, no point in saying don't worry cos you are only human and will anyway. hugs ginny

Dr's really are a pita. TMI alert (sorry). I phoned mine this morning and explained my problem (female problem) and was given an emergency appointment. When I saw the dr she said she couldn't do anything in the 5min emergency app timeslot, to go back to reception and book a 20min app. next available app, 10th sept .
I wasn't happy and mum gave me the gynae emergency no at the hospital who told me to go straight in, book in at a+e and ask to be referred up to them. Half an hr later I had been through a+e, triage, gynae nurse and booked in for a scan. Can't fault them, they've been brilliant. Back at gynae, scan all clear but a 'large area of concern' spotted. Result...booked in for colposcopy and biopsy for the 18th. The nurse tried her very best to be reassuring, but she looked pretty worried. I had a smear less than 12 mths ago but now all I can think is the 'c' word. I've already had problems in the past so will be a little concerned until I get the results.

What huge worry for you Lisakay. Hope it's nothing too bad. Hugs and good wishes coming to you x

Congratulations to everyone having a GCSE day. As parents we know what a solid hard slog it is for our offspring. Sounds like pizza for the kids and a G+T for Mother!:p

Yes great news and stress lifting for you all :T:T
Sorry I didn't say earlier, I totally demented today and things are not going well in the Mad Arthur hoose - was pouring blue colour into a soap and my hand slipped. I look like a cross between Braveheart and Thing :D

Well done all junior members of the Toughie thread! And glad your back is a bit better today Kidcat.

Byatt - hope you are feeling a bit better too ?

We had some good news today - we had our first 'corporate' booking confirmed. A very nice gig working it Tenby cooking for 100 people. Really looking forward to it, and will be a great opportunity to raise our profile locally.

I am also thinking about something to do during the non-trading winter months - I found out today that a table in our Thursday market is only a fiver. I am going to sell the fat balls I make from our used palm oil (fully sustainable I might add, no Orang Utans are harmed when we cook chips!). I am also going to experiment with making 'suet' pellets, these are quite expensive to buy, so would go quite well I think. I won't make a fortune, but it would be nice to have a bit of pocket money :o.

I am seriously thinking about one of GQ's snazzy trolleys, but really finding it hard to bite the bullet and spend the money. Where we live is at the bottom of a big hill, and it is too easy to jump in the car and drive up to town. If I had a trolley I could walk up and do my shopping which would be much better all round - particularly for my waistline! I do like the look of those nice purple ones!
