Thanks kittie - I think it may become a nightmare, being autistic getting him to change food eating habits is impossible, he simply hides food he doesnt want to eat, or refuses. This could be a long road.0

Kidcat - sugar dip could have been just that - if he had something very sugary earlier on, the body can overproduce insulin to counteract, then the sugar level dips too low. A sugary drink or something to eat puts it right.
My brother had constant low blood sugar for years, he is now diabetic, so it is worth trying to keep a check on his level if at all possible.Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Hugs for everyone, whether you need it or not!!
Just catching up; I know it's always said but, you lot can talk!!!!!
I paid about £20 for my TENS machine and it's great, really good investment. I'm pretty much attached to a hot water bottle as this eases my pain but if I have to go far or not be able to use one, you can use a TENS discreetly.
I have many horror stories about doctors and their 'bedside manner' as well as smears and 'sharing' myself with wards of people :rotfl: I won't share here though
Well done on all kiddies GCSE resultsA woman in work made us jump today by roaring at her girl who informed her she had only passed 5. They were both red-faced when daughter realised she'd read her results wrong and she had 11

I didn't either, and my parents were really keen on academic achievement. But surely the passing of the exams and the bright future is the reward?
Yes it is and my son was proud as punch today. He was just so happy and he had been so worried so that in itself is a reward. He is now able to do the subjects he wanted and had a very upbeat interview with his head of sixth form this afternoon :T:T:T
Spikey - glad your son did well despite the difficulties :TI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
I got a few 'O's' in subjects I did not really need to work at (told you I was a lazy student) and I didn't get anything at all. That was the 70's though. I heard today a boy on the radio talking about going to get his results and saying that they had their pictures taken getting them - is this another new thing like Proms? I really find it hard to understand the need to document and turn everything into an 'event' in this way, such a huge change since my time at school. I am such an old fogey :rotfl:.
But Very, Very, Very Well Done to all GCSE students and their parents for all their hard work, regardless of what the news says.
Is it me or do the news people always find the downbeat side of any news, instead of telling us the good side?2025 Fashion on the ration

GQ - just come up to my parents for a few days' break and to see DD who's having a holiday up here and guess what I've spied handing up, looking all lonely, in the garage?!? Yup, a Jiffy..........well, not as beautiful as your Jiffy, as she's plain blue, not navy but a lovely blue, and I must confess to having trolley envy now.
I'm about to be made redundant and currently wheel my laptop and all my tut around in a wheely laptop bag, but when I leave the job, the bag will go. I think I need to work on my mother as when I'm using the car less and walking more to get groceries in the village rather than out at the supermarket, I will get great use out of it!
Watch this space.........we could be needing to think up a name for a 'new' trolley, actually maybe Bluebelle?!0 -

What a bunch of little brainboxes you've all produced you should all be very, very proud
:T:TPlease pass on my congrats to all the young people XX
Great to get some good news on here!
Kidcat DS3 is 13 now and this past year..finally..hallelujah he has actually been more open to trying new food..I know how frustrating it is when they look, sniff, maybe lick then say no to just about everything
Over the years I've had to buy Mcdonalds boxes so he would try a homemade burger and fries,a plastic chip cone so his wedges were 'like they get in the chip shop'(we never even go in the chip shop lol) I've done picnics in the front room,on the field,in the park after school..pranced around singing silly songs you name it and he STILL probably only actually eats about 6 different foods :rotfl:*yes mainly strawberries still*
He is however getting more proficient in the kitchen so is much more open to tasting his stuff he makes (ratatouille film helped here as I told him if a rat can taste his cooking so can he!)
Keep at it hun XX0 -
Same here Mrs C. I did O levels in the 70's, and don't remember any 'rewards', but we didn't have any spare cash in our family then.
But Very, Very, Very Well Done to all GCSE students and their parents for all their hard work, regardless of what the news says.
Is it me or do the news people always find the downbeat side of any news, instead of telling us the good side?
Yes they do, having said that...they ignore the stories they should be taking up and let off those who are causing most of us the stress and worry in our lives..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson
