Thank you, lovely people. I'm totally thrilled. Two young girls circa 12 y.o. did extract the michael in a shop but frankly it'll be another decade before their brains have finished forming so who cares what they think..........I'm a happy bunny.
The rest of the world was completely-oblivious to the new rolling accessory so my magical Cloak of Invisibility spreads far enough to cover Jiffy as well. It's all good.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Hehe, hope you and jiffy have lots of fun together
just watching super scrimpers now, I find that man really patronising, not sure why, just his manner of talking I think.
Hope the painkillers now have you dancing on the tables
Dr's really are a pita. TMI alert (sorry). I phoned mine this morning and explained my problem (female problem) and was given an emergency appointment. When I saw the dr she said she couldn't do anything in the 5min emergency app timeslot, to go back to reception and book a 20min app. next available app, 10th sept .
I wasn't happy and mum gave me the gynae emergency no at the hospital who told me to go straight in, book in at a+e and ask to be referred up to them. Half an hr later I had been through a+e, triage, gynae nurse and booked in for a scan. Can't fault them, they've been brilliant. Back at gynae, scan all clear but a 'large area of concern' spotted. Result...booked in for colposcopy and biopsy for the 18th. The nurse tried her very best to be reassuring, but she looked pretty worried. I had a smear less than 12 mths ago but now all I can think is the 'c' word. I've already had problems in the past so will be a little concerned until I get the results.
All the faff meant we didn't get to go blackberrying, but the girls had lots of fun crafting with nanna.
DH gets paid on fri, already started my shopping list. I'm going to stock up on pasta, rice, passata and flour. will also be looking out for whoopsied bread while there's plenty of room in the freezer.
Good luck to everyone getting exam results tomorrow xxfreecycler and skip diver extraordinnaire:cool:0 -
Welcome Jiffy, am so pleased for you GQ I know I miss the pram when shopping.
I managed to take my own sock off earlier - so I assume the tablets are having an effect. There is little more embarrassing moments than having to have your kids put your socks on.0 -
Oh Lisa ((hugs))0

OMG Lisa. that's scary sounding. Really hope it turns out to be a false alarm. I've just had my reminder for the test so must get down surgery, although I loathe the whole procedure.

Congrats on a successful purchase GQ, may you and Jiffy be very happy together!
Byatt - so sorry you are down. I can understand why, what a blow! Were you expecting it?
Kidcat - have you tried a TENS machine? I used to use one for terrible monthly pain that gave me excruciating back ache, it was very helpful. I used to take ibuprofen by the bucket load, totally ignored the dosage rules but I was in such awful pain I did not care. MR OG has been using one for the last few weeks for his lower back pain as his Doc can't seem to find a drug that works, and he has been a lot better with it. They are quite cheap now I think, Lloyds Pharmacy often have them on a special purchase.
Time for some choccy, the only thing I can face after a night frying fish!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Oh Lisa,so sorry you are going through it. I know just how you feel, there was a period when it was thought I had a serious problem with an ovary, turned out to be a false alarm but the waiting for results was awful (((hugs))).Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0

Thanks Mrs C I had totally forgotten about TENS I may well invest in one, although I have decided to book with GP for further investigation exploration etc and then look at treatment options. Six years ago the only option I was given was an operation that took six months to recover from, but I assume medicine has moved on alot since so I may have other options.
Lisa - is there any chance you could contact the hospital and ask that if they get any cancellations they call you, it may speed it up a little for you0 -
Lisa (((hugs))) the waiting is awful. I agree it's worth phoning the secretary and asking to be considered for a cancellation. I had a scare a couple of years ago and managed to go much earlier than expected for that reason (results were fine).0

Kidcat, that was probably the scariest bit, she insisted I take the earliest available appointment and asked if I would be able to get a babysitter if any earlier appointments came up!!
This will, in all probability, turn out to be nothing....but, to ALL ladies, please, please make sure you get your regular smear tests.
I've only just been downgraded from annual tests to every 3 years. I've had one every year for the past 10 years with no problems. They're really not a big deal, barely any worse than a visit to the dentist.
I've had a bellyache since this afternoon, but I'm not entirely sure whether i'm just imagining it.
Byatt, I missed your post. I do hope you're ok xxxfreecycler and skip diver extraordinnaire:cool:0
