I seem to have been sat here for ages...hours...I really should consider making a meal or making a sandwich or something, even having a coffee.
You know how you can watch tv on the internet and not pay the license if you don't watch the programmes going out "Live"
They will close that loophole, we always knew that they would...
They are trying to do that already in France...so it won't be long in happening here...:("A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Hey, another great thread has turned up about freezing food for a freezer but on here a few have asked about the freezing of rice, I thought this post was worth highlighting...I may cut and paste and send it in an e-mail to myself...

Evening all, I last checked it at lunch time and have come home to another two pages of posts!!
Ginny - how awful, I would say that having access to running water and a place to eat is a requirement under employment rules - so it may be worth making discreet enquiries about and even reporting.
As I usually come in to moan I thought I would share my news tonight - DS had a "fabby" day at school today so said teacher. He went into his old teachers class straight away and when I left was happy. When I picked him up she was beaming with pride that he had been so good. She warns its still early days but she feels she can win - she even had a chat about his behaviour last week and he didnt kick off, so definite improvement.
The support staff from the other class have said they have never seen him so happy or well behaved and how thrilled they were to see him learning.
Now for a little advice, I am currently feeling very sensitive to things, and am as such not sure whether I am taking things to heart too much in other areas, today one of the groups I am involved with sent me a message about their evening parents meeting this week. Now last time we went the lady who came from the organisation commented how another area usually had cakes.
So I messaged back asking was it ok for us to take cakes (its in a hotel meeting room so want sure on etiquette) I then got a reply that I was a little hurt by saying its fine, but please take a donation to cover our ladys petrol costs for coming out to you.
I just felt that if she had said ask for a donation to cover your costs I could have said no, its my gift to my friends in the group. But as she has put it about paying the ladys petrol I now feel awkward -
So am I being over sensitive do you think?0 -
kidcat was the lady going to attend anyway, ie, before you had offered the cake?? Sorry if I'm being thick, but if I've read your post correctly I think the reply may well have been a request to all attendees to contribute to her petrol, it's just your email re cake in the meantime seems to indicate that cake = petrol donation.*If you have nothing nice to say... say nothing*"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. I can understand how you feel Kidcat and when something is said in a way that's isn't clear, it is hard to know what's meant and whether you are reading too much into it. If you are and say something it snowballs. I'm not sure. I wonder if you leave it for a while it will die down or something else will be said. If it is it may mean you know for definate.
That hasn't helped has it...Sorry:("A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Bonnie - yes the lady was due to attend, she does every month anyway.
I suppose now I am left with the thought that maybe we should all be offering her petrol money (although we all travel equal distances and its her paid job to attend whereas we are just members as it were). I wish I had kept my mouth shut now and left the whole cake thing well alone.
Thanks popperwell I think you are right I will wait it out until later tomorrow before making any decisions.0 -

Been busy all weekend, but guess i've finished our bedroom yay! Yes its all white and the ceiling isn't done but i don't care. I can now finally get the room tided and sorted. Its a mess up there, its officially a garage / craft room / bedroom so you name it its in there.
Guess what on saturday we had sun, oh yes it showed its face so took the boys out for a bit.
Today i didn't go to ds2's sports day as it was cancelled for parents outside so instead they did a little one for the children inside. So at least they got to do something.
Well better catch up as i'm way with the new thread.
