Well look at that! All the redheads on this thread! Now since redheads are in a minority in the population at large and we have several of them on this thread, that just proves that redheads are the most intelligent, because what could be more intelligent than OS?
There's a logic in there somewhere ...... :rotfl:
Yeah but I'm a 'natural' white blonde, and I'm on here. What does that make me?GC Mar 13 £47.36/£1500 -

Oh, I wish I'd had that one in my gun cabinet when I was younger, absolutely brilliant! :rotfl:
Yup, shortsighted, and with the invisilashes and brows. I don't go out without mascara on! Totally worth it though, I do love being a rarityI really hope (if I ever find a man) that my small people will inherit the red.

How bizarre! Redheads are apparently less than 10% of the population and we've got loadsa reddies here.
Someone had a snark the other week by pointing out the the genes which cause redheadedness are recessive and thus we are on our way to extinction.Totally deflated them by pointing out the same is true for blondes................:rotfl:
I will be intruiged when my hair has finished its transition to dazzling white if I will still be a redheaded spirit. Am sooo glad that of a brunette and a reddish-blond parents I inherited the hair colour and not the pale lashes and brows. Thanks, parental units, nice job. Shame about the short-sightedness, but you can't have everything.
Hey, even if you could have everything, you'd only have to dust it.
I have tea, all is well with the world. Did I tell you my new jammies are purple and black? I suspect that might be TMI. So strange to buy something from a proper (i.e. non-charity) shop.
Oops, cross-posting with Smileyt!
I had fair light brown/blond hair(difficult to say which)but my flowing locks went years ago:(going grey now. I am short sighted too...
Funny, Smiley T most of my clothes are years old but lately I have made use of the charity shops on the town for CD's, jumpers and shirts.
Tesco's/Peacock's for trousers(they are about the cheapest)The same for underwear and socks and a store called Boyes for thermal underwear and socks(they have branches across the North and Yorkshire)Peacocks for PJ's.
Then I was not signed up to E-bay at the time but I could not get a dressing gown on the town(and adding taxi fares/Bus fares seemed silly)
I found a fleece one in navy blue on that site.Popperwell I agree with pooky, but I would give then a 5 minute boil in a pan of water too just to start them off as they do take a long time to cook.
I am not in a good mood here  DS's girly was made redundant twice and has had 3 jobs since, all lousy - not the job that she accepted, then not in the place she accepted but miles away at the airport (impossible to get through traffic at rush hour) and now although the new one is in Manchester city centre they have no where to eat lunch, no access to water apart from the toilet sink, has to go outside to eat and they wont honour her holiday that Gareth booked 3 weeks ago before she even applied. They say if she insists on taking the holiday they will take disciplinary action even though she will take it as unpaid leave. All they want it is to work, settle down in their own place and leave us in peace.:mad:
Tea was nice though
I've known many employers like that, No one I have ever worked for was good and they'll take even more advantages in the situation the UK is in...we have to show ourselves in the best light to get the job but very few employers really show what they are like and you find out once you are an employee...:(:mad:then it's too late...
It's changed but one place I worked years ago was H. Samuel the Jewellers, the branch I was at was really old. The Management, some of the assistants and even the shop itself...think of Are You Being Served on a smaller scale and you have the picture. We had our own assistant who thought all women fancied him and our own Mrs Slocombe even a Mr. Humpries...
Another place was very much like the company you are describing GK! He gave me the interview for the job...in his car whilst going somewhere...
Never got a proper lunch break, always ended up staying back until at least 7pm having started at 8am and...then we even ended up going in on Saturday mornings and never got away before 2pm so you did not even get two days off each week.
I wouldn't care but the wages were not great either...that hasn't changed.
There are lots of bad companies out there. Some are really well known too. Thanks for the advice about the vegetables..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Hello all
I have just been reading the last 10 pages and enjoyed immensely:T
So thought id say hello and join in  I do warn you I am a brunette not a redhead lol :rotfl:
Pop - Well done on your cooking.. I must say I love cooking and swear by my slow cooker. I use it for all sorts. Rice pudding is exceptionely good in a sc. We love things like: Chili con carne, HM Curry, Lancashire hot pot, gammon joints & pot roasts.
Feel frustrate at the moment.. I am an avid amateur gardener and had the worst season ever with my veg.
Slugs have eaten 9 cucumber plants, 6 pepper plants, tons of lettuce. My toms and pots are ok for now.. just praying no blightGoal - We want to be mortgages free :j

Thanks Mrs Rogers, Another poster is always welcome:wave:we do what the thread is there for but being allowed to wander ot is good as you get to know each other, some days there is little happening and out of our meanderings sometimes there is advice and help on something you might not have thought of.
Thanks regarding my cooking I used to do some lovely meals and cooked for Mum and me and thought possibly I may just live on soup and baked beans now I am alone but though sometimes it is an effort cooking for one and don't eat as much or as often, I do still try and make the effort and have at least one special hot meal daily. I may more so now I am going to make use of the Slow Cooker.
Next I will have to think about using the combi micro and halogen oven but it will be funny if I end up doing most meals in the SC. For may months I have been a salad, sandwiches, cereal and fruit person...mainly cold meals...
And I have when not drinking milk, water or fruit juice seemingly switched to coffee rather than tea. I have loads of tea bags to get through...:pThen again they can go into the store room I have.
I bet you are right about doing rice pudding in the SC but I must admit I have some cans of rice pudding and custard enough serving for one and for quickness...
Sorry that you have been hit by the bad weather garden wise. I used to love growing my own flowers, if I stay here I may consider growing some vegetables even if I have cold frame or raised bed..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy.
