Thank you for all the birthday wishes....i have had a lovely weekend, have been spoiled rotten and over indulged in pretty much everything....weight watchers on Wednesday is not going to be pretty:eek:!
Money wise, I managed to blag a fair few birthday drinks on Saturday night, still spent a bit more than i would of liked as we ended up going for food afterwards, food shopping yesterday which again was a bit more than i was expecting (the bf came with me and kept putting things in the trolley) however he did then give me some more money (that I don't have to give back!) so its all fine.
£10 left but need to get a few bits from Morrison's that were not available at Aldi yesterday.
Looking forward to getting back on track not only diet wise but also spending money wise. A new week beckons on Wednesday and it also marks the start of the Xmas presents buying!!:T:T
Going to go shopping next weekend to buy some clothes with the birthday money i received....very overdue as I have not bought anything for ages and really do need a bit of an update!:)
Hope everyone had a great weekend! Bf on nights this week so will have a bit more time to come onnline and catch up! Looking for a new diary to read from the start xx2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32

Plan for this coming week (mon - fri and spending week wed - wed)
- Bring lunch to work every day.
- Charge phone at work every day.
- No spends at uni apart from £2.80 car parking.
- Have been offered to be taken out for dinner by friend...aim is to actually let her pay! I hate letting other people pay for me, but to be fair over the years I have probably spent hundreds on subsidising her (she a bit tight and didn't have a job for a while) glad those times are gone and i have a bit more of a backbone now!!!
- Confirm what plan I am on with British gas - I think economy 7 so have been putting the washer to go on through the night, but need to check.
- Have heating on for a maximum of 3 hours per day.
Split weekly money as follows -- total - £115
- Petrol - £35
- Bf's Sister - £20 (this is for a xmas pressie that we are all clubbing in together for)
- Xmas pressie - £15 (something I have ordered off my sisters next account for niece).
- Food shopping - £45 (Will stock up on meat this week as have been running it down a bit last few weeks and am going to treat the bf to a Steak

Great read Laura. We are in a position that we are looking to purchase our first house.
Initially our overpayment money will be used to decorate our house. It needs a complete revamp but we are happy to do that over time. Once that's complete (I'd estimate this time next year) we will start over paying.
Just a question but how is your weekly petrol bill so expensive?0 -
exciting times ahead for you spenceeyftb!!
My petrol is around £35 per week as I tend to do between 200 - 250 miles per week.
A full tank for me is about £60-£65 ish.
I have quite an economical car now, with my last car (a convertable so really bad!) it was about £50-£55 per week on petrol!
Would love a job in the same town as where I live, but has never seemed to be the way...always had a good 40mins commute no matter what job i have moved to!2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32

just reading another diary about xmas and discussing my plans has got me thinking.
Present wise, I am going to start buying a gift a week (around £20 per week) and then give the bf the bill before xmas and his half (prob around £120) will cover his present.
With regards to food shopping, I am doing xmas breakfast (bagels, smoked salmon, croissants etc) and then going out for lunch to bf's sisters (Will contribute a bit in terms of cash).
However that is pretty much it, now I have been doing Morrisons savers stamps and am currently up to about £120, prob will hit £130 - £140 before xmas (dont go so much now i live near aldi!). Anyway my conundrum is weather to take the savers stamps and spend them in morrisons (including £3 free!!) or weather to go and have them back as cash...forgoing the £3 but would prob save that much by not having to spend all at morrisons??! Then need to actually decide what to get with them...if I do spend them at morrisons, I dont want to waste them on xmas type food as we really dont need it. I think i would rather stock the freezer up on meat and healthy foods ready for the New year.
Does anyone else save the morrisons stamps and if so...what do you do with yours??2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32

I haven't saved them this year, but I have previously and MIL will probably still send me a full one. I usually stock up on toiletries/cleaning stuff then the cupboard stuff and the freezer. I never really spend it on Xmas food

I think I may follow your lead on this one and do the same!! I do like Morrisons meat and fish so could really fill the freezer! We normally stay in for New year so I could get something delicious to cook for NYE!2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32
