Spending Diary for Week 27/09/2012 - 01/10/2012
Starting Balance - £115.00 (Inc bf's £15 contribution for food shopping)
26/09/2012 - £35.00 Mr T (Petrol)
26/09/2012 - £35.00 Theatre ticket for next May!
26/09/2012 - £10.00 Takeaway
28/09/2012 - £6.00 Birthday collections at work (Begrudge paying these so much)
29/09/2012 - £14.00 Aldi Shopping
29/09/2012 - £2.00 Car Parking in town
29/09/2012 - £1.90 Drink whilst in town
30/09/2012 - £4.80 Aldi - bits of shopping I forgot on Saturday!
30/09/2012 - £1.30 Vending Machine - (treat for bf nieces as swimming lessons)
Current Balance - £5.00
So only £5 left and looking at the weekly spend it looks like i am slipping into old habits...not too badly but a bit more frittering of money than i would like....
Eg, the £1.30 vending machine, £1.90 drink whilst in town and £10.00 takeaway were not necessary. I would say the car parking wasn't necessary as it is free to park on a Sunday, however the banks are not open then so wasn't really an option.
I begrudge the £6.00 birthday contributions...it is £3 per person, my birthday is coming up and I know this sounds really bad, but a - i am not sure if they even know / will remember and if they do I would much rather have the cash (works out to be about £60) so i could actually use it for something I want. It tends to be just chocs, wine and comedy presents that they buy and it is so infuriating about the absolute waste of money.
Need to think of a way to get out of the collections without looking bad...it totals about £60 a year and again, not that it is the point but because I have a separate office away from the main office, i am often forgotten about in terms of signing the card. So whoever gets the gift (i do know what I am about to say sounds really bad) gets my money but doesn't know i have contributed!!
Ok rant over!!
Anyway, apart from frittering bits of money, glad I managed to stick to budget this week seeing as I paid out the £35 for a theater ticket. A third of the budget just gone. Using up a lot of stuff in the freezer, hence the lower weekly shopping spend and will be hopefully stocking it back up a little next week. Have a night out planned for Friday but am going to drive instead of drinking to save money and my diet!2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32

I'm tired just reading that.
£1.90 for a drink!!!! i hope that was for 2 of you, we rarely buy drinks out but if we really need one i try find a 2litre for £1 deal, usually you can get 7up/sprite/fants/pepsi all for around that price.
You should start dropping hints about your birthday
things like oh my birthdays coming up, i might take teh day off to go shopping....ect.
Try look at the silver lining you wasted abit of money (you can't be surper strict anyway it will drive you mental) but you have £5 to add to your loan, and every little really does help

Going to have to start the new spending week a day early this week, I have absolutely no petrol in the tank and have decided to eat at the pub tonight in trade off for drinking on Friday night!
My bf is staying at his own house tonight so it makes more sense to eat at the pub with all the ladies from where I used to work, than it does to go just for a drink and then come home and start trying to cook something just for me. £10 is my limit although as it is a 2-4-1 place it should be cheaper than that...may go for a tap water as well just to be a little bit frugual!
Apart from that not much spends planned this week...think I will use most of the money on food shopping. Bf's parents are coming round on Sunday for a roast dinner...going to do slow cooked pork with veg / pots from Aldi so that should come in around £10....do need to get a bottle of wine in for them!
Think I will try to stock up the freezer a little bit on meat and fish...see if I can do a whoopsie run on Friday evening!:D
New spending diary coming up shortly...
hope all are well
should be an earlyish night home tonight (prob around 8pm) and seeing as I dont have any tea to cook when i get in I am looking forward to catching up on last night corrie and a few diaries! 2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32

back to uni yesterday (i go part time whilst working full time:eek:) so had to pop in to Mr T for some essentials.
If anyone is in the market for this type of stuff, there Leaver arch folders in blue and hot pink are only 30p at the moment, fantastc!
£2.80 to park for 6 hours...cheapest one i can find.
And then after uni I zoomed back home to get to my weight watchers meeting and weigh in...pleased to report a 5lb loss...very happy!
No more spends after that last night - back home for a nice tea.
Today I have changed the meal plan slightly as I have a friend coming round for tea, so need to pop to Morrisons at lunchtime to pick up some meat (they dont sell this in aldi) and then to aldi when i get home to get the other bits I need that Aldi do sell!
Looking forward to the weekend soo much this week, another long and stressfull week at work...deadline seem to be getting shorter and shorter and I somehow seem to be involved in more things than ever before. Nice to be busy but at the same time I am pulling some silly hours lately and weekend working....which i hate :mad:
anyway that is all for now....catch you all later!!xx2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32

just popped out to get the dinner stuff and picked up a few other bits we needed as well...only stuff that was on my list to get at the weekend anyway so no worries on that front.
Bought a couple of savers stamps as well...first card done to 100 (well 97 as they give you 3 for free!) and the second one up to around 15ish.
Then came back and bought my car insurance, have been hunting around for the best price and in the end went with D!rect L!ne who worked out at about 447, have paid it all on my 0% tesco credit card and have just set up standing order to start paying it off £40 per month...however I didn't quite work it out right and therefore a payment will be coming out this month....of which I don't have money available in bills account so will need to take it out of my savings account  I had thought this month would be a car insurance payment free month so had swiped the money across at the beginning of the month...very sad to have to move it back.
Doesn't look like I will be hitting the £1k this month...:mad::mad::mad:2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32

just thinking...i will be putting some petrol on the card and before the statement is due.
So far i have been paying off the petrol as soon as I put it on the card and then today have set up this standing order / direct debit. Now instead of moving money out of my savings, next week when I fill up with Petrol, I could fill up £40 and move the money to the bills account instead of straight to the credit card. Then I would be able to cover this months payment and have paid the petrol and just split the car insurance over 10 months instead of 11.
That might be a better plan...I genuinely don't think I can face drawing money OUT of the savings account!!!
sorry if that makes sense to no one else...I think the way I run my banking is probably very complicated to other people, but works for me!!2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32
