Its FRIDAYYYY!!!
:j:j:j:beer::beer::beer::T:T:T:T:j:j:j:beer::beer::beer::T:T:T
... can you tell I am excited!!
Looking forward to the weekend as it has been another hectic week at work, it does mean the week passes very quickly but it also means I am absolutly shattered by Friday!
Got a night out tonight for my friends birthday, wasnt planning on drinking but the bf has said he will give me £30 so I can have a few glasses of wine. Wont be having too much as I have lots to do tomorrow, but I am not overly fond of my friends friends and if I am stone cold sober and they are all drunk...i will be even less fond of them and want to go home no sooner than being there.....sounds bad i know!!
In a MSE effort I will be getting the bus up town and then just a taxi back. In a weight watchers efforts, I am going to do low fat pizzas for tea, have half before I go out and then half when I am back to save me buying any other food. Will get the bf a pizza as well to have whilst I am out....why do i suspect he is paying for me to go out so he can have a night of peace and full control over the tv!!!???
Hope everyone else has a good weekend planned?xx2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32

cant believe how quickly the last few days have gone! i had a great weekend...out Friday night and had a bit too much to drink and then clearing out my mom's house Saturday, Sunday cooked a roast for the bf and his parents and then back to work yesterday!!
All weekly monies is spent...lots of money spent on food shopping this week! the bonus is I think next week I should be able to do a relatively modest food shop, big pack of turkey mince, salmon fillets, chicken breasts etc in the freezer! Will update the spending diary in a min!
Can not honestly see where I can find £60ish from to top the savings up to theh £1000 mark. I already owe the bf's sister £20 for a xmas present she has got early and would like to pay the bf back the £30 he gave me to go out on Friday night. There are still a few bits I want for the flat and cant see any way to squeeze any more....at this rate I will be drawing out of the savings  instead of paying in!!
One of the things I want is a tv bracket for the wall, I have seen the one I want in argos for around £35 ish, I am up to £18.50 on VO so am holding out trying to get that up to £20 to make the bracket only £15.
It is my birthday on friday and I know most people will be giving me money...will be spending £50 of this on a canvas for the lounge (me and bf going halfs) and then have a few other things i want to get, nothing too exciting but toiletries, make up and some cheapish clothes!
The challenge will be to keep my weekly spending money and birthday money separate so i don't end up just wasting the birthday money and have things to show for it!!
Hope all are well in mfw land...I was thinking, i really need to try to change the tittle of this thread as i am now moved in....anyone know how or if you can do this??!!:):)2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32

£58 on food shopping last week :eek::eek:
Now I know i did a roast dinner, (approx cost of £10) and bought a bottle of wine (£5), but that still means I spent far too much on food shopping.
Definitely definitely need to have a week or two clearing down the freezer and cupboards!2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32

Well the plan seems to have gone to pot already :mad:
When putting petrol in today I was drifting off into a daydream and then realised I had gone over my £35 allocations...cant take it back out so that was the first dent.
Then I sent the bf over to aldi to get some ham for the sandwiches tomorrow and he somehow managed to spend about £7 :eek: Need to do spending diary in a second and rekon up!!
also realised i have got to get some stuff to make cakes for my birthday on friday to take into work, i figured making cupcakes is cheaper than going and buying a load of cakes!
hope all are well xx2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32

so £39.20 left to buy the stuff to make cakes, food shopping for next week and pay for a night out :eek:....somehow i dont think this is possible.
I think I may pay for the birthday night out of my birthday money...and try to get a few free birthday drinks
:D!!
I have a free ticket in so hopefully I can really keep the costs down.
I know it sounds bad, but i really wish my birthday wasnt right now...really could do without the expense at the moment....god how miserable do i sound!!!2019 Totals: Savings: £929.53 / Mortgage OP - £746.32

aww have a little faith i'm sure you can manage on whay you have, i'd do a basic jam and cream sponge for work, will work out at less than £2 and you'll have some jam left (lidl jam is fab for this)
As for your night out do one drink one water and except all free drinks
keep your birthday money to treat yourself. DEC GC £463.67/£450

I have a confession to make....I have drawn £100 out of my savings :eek:
I had a chat with the boyfriend last night because he could see I was not very excited about my birthday and just explained to him that I feel like I have loads to pay out, bits here and there and that I would have to essentially 'borrow from the enxt few weeks money' to do it all which in turn always leaves me in a worse position as I get confused as to what i owe where and end up just burying my head in the sand. He offered again for me not to pay back the £30 to him, but I don't want to do that.
He then asked me how much I had managed to save this month (about £250)...and reminded me that A, its my first month in the flat with mortgage payments, bills etc and B, that when I started all this I said I was going to try to make better choices and not fritter money away (like the Mr T stop off shops in a morning) but at the same time not kill myself and not enjoy anything at all because of the cost....and you know what, i think he is right.
I don't want to go backwards, but by drawing out £100 it means I can pay the bf and pay the £60 for the canvas we have been after.
I had originally planned to buy the canvas before I moved in, never got around to it and put the money in savings instead, now the bf decided to go halves on it and I was going to either pay for it out of my birthday money or out of weekly money...but it is just going to have a knock on effect I think and will be scrapping about together for the next few weeks.
So have paid for that and the birthday money is earmarked for xmas tree (I know its early but want to get it while deal is still on), a refresh of my make up bag as new foundation, mascara and eyeliner are seriously needed and then if I have anything left, perhaps either a bit in savings and a bit on some clothes for myself.
Feel a lot happier now I know its all sorted, the budget for this week has now been adjusted back to allow a bit of breathing room and built in an extra £10 as we have been asked to go out for a meal on Sunday night for my birthday!
£80
£40 - Foodshop - including stuff for cakes for work and food shopping for the week.
£30 - Birthday night out....def still going to be trying for some free drinks
£10 - Meal out on sunday.
Then next week back to the budget I had previously set and starting on getting the Xmas pressies underway.
Oh and if I mention drawing out cash from my savings again for a while...give me a slap!!
I want to enjoy life.....but not get carried away!!!;)
Hope everyone understands
