  • Glad the weekend went well. I loved my little flat, that was the happiest days and debt free I still regret moving out of there and was really tempted to go back (its on the market now) even with 2 children in tow!

I use the walking theory for my shop too ;)

New spending diary started...had to start a day early as my petrol was about to run out!
Petrol in and also included the top up shop I did at aldi last night. Was £10 exactly and consisted mainly of staple bits that I had forgotton on the big shop, and top up bits. That should mean I should only really need to spend about another £5 on food until I go on holiday (Next Wednesday).

If i can refrain from any further spends, then there a few bits and pieces that I need to get for hols, although not a lot. I will earmark the rest for home stuff. The two big things I need are Curtains in the lounge 1 x Patio and 1 Large window and a big picture to go on the long wall in the lounge. The curtains I like are £60 + pole and then unsure of how much the picture is going to cost. In the 'pot' I have £112 + Whatever I save this week.

Ohh just remembered I also need to get cake making stuff...got some relatives coming round on Sunday to have a mini flat warming so will be making cupcakes for them!

    Hope all are well xx

Poundlands and b&m are good for baking stuff, even things like bun cases ect, and piping bags.

I always spent less when i had to walk to the shops and i had a pram to load up, but i just had to go more often lol.

hi all, no morning update for me today...work is pretty busy at the moment so as soon as I was in I got cracking!! Just having 5 mins for my lunch and a quick post on here and then back to it!!

At least this busy'ness means the time goes quick! Peak of the week already...cant believe it!!
I have been an official homeowner for 1 week and 1 day!!:D:D

Working on my organisation and getting all the direct debits switched over to the Santander 123 account. This will be a purely bills account so hopefully shouldn't need to deal with there customer services too much!!;)

got my salary now being paid into my Halifax account for the £5 reward and just need to set the reminder to send the money across every month to the santander acc. Faster payments prob quicker than S/O.

It was probably a bit premature as they hadn't even wrote to me to request me signing up yet, but I rang British Gas yesterday to set up that direct debit, it is all electric in the flat, no gas. They have estimated my usage at £52 pm but I have set up to pay £60, I had budgeted about £80 so still a saving, but want to ensure I am in credit and will review in the spring, I will then look at taking the direct debit down if the usage is in line with there estimate. :T

Friend round for tea tonight and to see the flat and then my sister and mom round for tea tomorrow.

Virgin is being installed tomorrow and I can't wait, I feel lost without any internet so looking forward to catching up on all your diaries over the weekend.

Need to stop at Mr T tonight, got to pick up the landline phone that I have ordered from there and also a few other bits, hopefully under £5 (already paid for the phone!!).

£3 to spend tomorrow for a birthday collection at work....worst thing is .. i don't think I have ever spoken to the person whose birthday it is! I know it is only £3 but I do sort of begrudge it!!!

We have the site manager coming to see my bf on Friday to explain the heating and hot water system....glad he is as I had a cold shower this morning as we have not figured out the timer yet
This was meant to be done as part of the new home demo but they missed it with us, so will be looking forward to understanding how it all works and how to put it on timer so I am not paying all day!! Does having the emersion on cost money...i am assuming so??!!

    hope all are well xx

Def need to understand how to work everything then!!

Popped into Mr T last night on the way home, just need a few bits for tonight and tomorrows tea, that came to £2.70 and then I added on 2 cans of my fav deodrant (that were on offer) for £2.50 so total spends were £5.20.

There was a guy putting out loads of whooopsied stuff, but there was a swarm of people around him, never seen anything like it! At morrisons where I normally go it is very civisilsed in the whooopsi section!! I didnt really need anything, nor do I have masses of time to cook stuff up before I go on holiday so decided not to fight my way in to have a look!!

Will have to pop in and get involved at some point though....that many people swarming around would suggest some good buys!! Def needs to be a day I have a bit more patience though!!!

Got to go to the post office today to send a parcel back, I will take a hit on the postage but to be honest I didnt think the seller (ebay) would give me a refund (nothing wrong with the item just didnt like the colour when it arrived), she has said she will so i'm not to unhappy with having to pay the postage. That will be £30 coming back to me.

Shut my Capital one credit card that I had, only used it really to build up some good credit, but have now applied and been accepted to the Tesco one which I will use to put car insurance on and pay off through the year (0%) and also for petrol (may try a bit of stoozing but to be honest a bit scared of it!!. I dont want too many credit accounts open on my file so decided to shut the capital one account.

And just in the labourous process of changing addresses and bank account details for most direct debits etc...
Some places are nice and simple and can do it online or over the phone and others are really nice and make it just that little bit more complicated!!!

Heyho cant complain!! Thursday now, I can smell the weekend!!

    Hope all are well xx

hi laura, it's a good thing your busy atleast you know your needed in your job :) we were talking about this yesterday hubbys is flat out where as other printers are going out of business so def a good thing :)

The emersion heater uses alot of water, but as we don't have gas either (it's quite uncommon here) in summer thats how we heat the water, we also don't have a shower!!! (i'm really missing it) so me a hubby share bath water either in together or him in after me, all 3 kids get in the bath together anyway, but thats not a hot water saving exercise they just like it like that.

Whoopsies can be really mad in my store you just need to take it in your stride, sometimes it's worth walking off and coming back to see whats left.
