Can I suggest having a look in the March issue of the free Asda magazine, they had ideas for Mother's day and one of the ideas was paper tissue flowers in a vase and they looked lovely. I know it sounds a bit dodgy (or maybe I'm a bit simple) but they did look nice and they would be very cheap and you could personalise them very easily to match your colour scheme. Best of all the magazine is free and there are vouchers in the back for money off, if you don't live near an Asda you can see the magazine online here:

Although it is still currently February's issue. I hope this helps someone and sorry if it's a pants idea.
Congrats and good luck!!!:A :

I am going to have a go at making my own fabric flowers.Going searching charity shops for fabric over the next week and will post my results if they are a success.I will start with a corsage.Going for a mix of fabric textures and will probably add some beading too.
UPDATE-My Mother-in -law is organising and paying for my flowers now ,a very generous wedding present:j ,so I wont be trying to make my own any more.I may still have a go at a fabric brooch just for the sake of it otehrwise all the time I have sent researching will be wasted."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
I have used foam roses for my table flowers, then added diamonte's, ribbons and fabric butterflies. First time I have tried something like this, I'm quite pleased with them.
Have 4 large and 10 small arrangements to be grouped on the tables
Also used the same roses to make the wands for my flower girls:
Thanks to people on this thread for giving me some creative inspiration :T

Hi
I was wondering if anyone knew where I might be able to buy blue or teal coloured roses. I don't mind if they are real or fake - I have just set my heart on a teal (or blue if I cant find teal) and white bouquet.

Hi all,
New to the site, so be gentle to me!
I did all my own flowers for my wedding in Oct 2007. I was quite lucky, as having done a basic floristry course, I managed to get a trade card from a florists wholesalers, and was able to buy all my flowers for buttonholes, table arrangements and bridesmaids flowers for around £30 (i did all these arrangements in artificial flowers). My bouquet cost me £10 to make, used a bit of greenery from the garden and bought a bunch of Asda extra - special white roses.
Hope this helps someone,
Love Elaine xxx
