Is anyone else having huge problems with this package? I supposedly joined Sky 23/2/07, they were quick enough to get the sky dish installed i.e. 26/2/07, but they can't connect my broadband and apparently cancelled my talk plan? Have given my MAC code and havebeen through to at least a dozen different depts and today they confirmed they can't connect. Am I within my rights to cancel the whole package? Reason for changing was to bring my monthly bill down which has since soared! Help

have they told you why they cant connect you, did you check on their site that you could get broadbandNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20

Yes they checked my line before I joined and confirmed I could get internet access. Supplied the MAC code about 10 days ago, and should have gone live 13/3/07, has taken this long for them to confirm there is a error on the line and they need another MAC code. This is just a string of things that have gone wrong, including faulty sky box which needed replacing completely, quoting one price and then charging another when ordering sky sports and cancelling my talk without me knowing it! Oh yes, and the comment about on 0870 numbers, daren't even look at my BT bill, must have spent over 3-4 hours on the phone to them!0

I've just ordered Sky TV and Sky Broadband.
Order process was quick and professional. Have been advised by Sky that the Sky Tv will be installed on Sunday 25 March 2007 and Sky Broadband will go live on Wednesday 28 March 2007. Have also been advised that BT are very slow at giving Sky confirmation of connection to the Broadband Connect Service.
With regards to Sky customers who are connecting to the Sky Broadband Connect package its worth noting that your wireless router won't be sent out until BT confirm the activation date of your broadband to Sky. The person at Sky I was just speaking to was telling me that as my broadband is estimated to be connected on 28 March 2007 it is likely that my wireless router won't be sent out until BT confirm this date.

My ordering process took 40 minutes on the phone, my sky dish was installed the next working day i.e. monday 26/2, the fauty box emerged after installation and took anther week to be recitifed. I was given my MAC code by BT no problem, Sky took the MAC code and confirmed on the telephone and in writing that it would go live 13/3/07, it has taken until today for them to confirm in fact there is an error. My broadband router was sent 5 days before the connection date so there was no problem there.0

Don't use the 0870 number. Use 0800 0512595 for SKY customer services including broadband and billing enquiries.0 -
Yes I've just tried that 0800 number, a recorded message comes on saying its no longer available and asks you to ring their 08702-404040 number! Does anyone else have any other suggestions please?!0

ring them back kick up a huss and ask them to give you some compo for the hassel also tell them about your phone bill and when you get your phone bill they will re-inburse you the amount, my mate got 6 months free full package, and all his phone calls paid,

Thanks for that, I've just this minute sent off a letter of complaint, my telephone bill and requesting they cancel everything. Wait with bated breath, but think I'm heading back to BT!0

I've been seriously thinking about switching to Sky's 'all-in' package (£26 per month) purely as a moneysaving mechanism as I have no problems with my current, separate services (£47 per month in total). However, despite the encouraging stories, there are too many horror ones for me to take the plunge just yet.
