  • Hi The Looney Tuner,

My partner has just been issued with one by ANPR International at Doncaster Airport. I notice your 14 days has lapsed to pay, have you been sent anything further? She is a bit cautious on not paying but having read this thread I still feel she should not.

    Any advice would be welcomed.

    Many thanks

    Pete

you shouldnt pay, but a complaint to doncaster airport about their retail park wouldnt go amis.

    Hi there

I'm new on this site but have been following this thread with interest, having recently had a PCN issued by VCS at Doncaster Airport.

There is no need to write to the airport as they don't own the land that the approach roads are situated on. I wrote to the director and he sent me a very nice letter by return pointing this out.

However a letter to (possibly) your local MP Caroline Flint may serve some purpose. She does take an interest in the parking issues on the land around the airport. Her office is on the airport site so is fully aware of the geography of the site and all the signage, which curiously has all recently been changed!

My advice is spend some time on here and you'll decide to either ignore or if you feel the need to write then there is plenty of advice on forums such as this as to what to write.

I wrote back and got my PCN cancelled. Would have been prepared for the experience of court though if the need arose.

    Best wishes

If it ever does go to court ( highly unlikely) you could give a toothbrush to the PPC person, if your feeling charitable.
The Judge at a recent ( and still rare) VCS parking charge court case said this to the Parking company represntative
If you continue to pursue those cases on this flawed premise , the consequences will be significant. If there is another case in the S!!!!horpe County Court, Grimsby County Court or Hull County Court live by four pm on Friday, you will be coming to see me and I suggest you bring a toothbrush. Am I clear?

    Hi, newbie here.

I understand you folk must have to answer hundreds of these every week, but I just want reassurance, as I don't fancy the prospect of going to court over this...

I stopped in the little bit of road before the gated off road off a roundabout near Doncaster airport, and was duly snapped by one of the patrolling ANPR vans, and have since recieved the VCS "Parking Charge Notice" through the post. Whilst (admittedly) I probably shouldn't have stopped there, I wasn't blocking any traffic as the road was gated off, there weren't any yellow lines, and I only stopped there for about two minutes. I saw other people parked up in similar spots in the surrounding area, so figured it wouldn't hurt too much just to wait there for a few minutes.

Unlike the OP, I don't really have a valid reason for stopping there, other than to delay going into the airport car park for a little bit longer, as I was only picking someone up from the airport, and they charge about £2.50 if you stay in the car park longer than 10 minutes.

So I just wondered, in these particular circumstances, is my best bet to just ignore this Parking Charge Notice like others have been advised to do?

    Thanks in advance...

It matters not what you did, you have legally done nothing wrong. Have a read of the letters page at the top and scroll down to VCS and all will be revealed.

Thanks. Yes, I've seen the letters.

The PCN I recieved looks slightly different to the one there. A bit more snazzy with colourful boxes and a picture of my car etc. Would it be useful to you if I scanned and posted the PCN I recieved, to keep that thread up to date for others?
