On thing about this inherited wealth, firstly not all of us are going to get anything, secondly if things carried on the only way people would have been able to own a home would be killing there parents or winning the lottery.
You do skate on thin ice Percy.
In less than 3 short years you paid off £28k in debt and saved a deposit whilst earning £17k. Still you insist that you've had it especially hard despite buying a house at prices not seen (vs wages) for nearly a generation.
You spent every day of those three years moaning about how hard done to you were because of your date of birth. Now you're spouting crap about killing your parents to get a house.
Time to get a grip?0 -

The average price of a terraced house in the Northwest is £66k a Semi is £122k Median full time salary is £24k 25% percentile is £17.5k. If you have a full time job I can’t see that it is impossible to buy.0 -
Ok, lets try and straighten this one out.
Lets be honest how many of you just had me written off as one of those who was moaning and doing nothing about it?
Anyway my 'moaning' could be classed as posting things you don't agree with, to which many of you have been moaning at me too.
Am I at a disadvantage due to my year of birth... yes... have I worked hard and risen above that disadvantage... yes... does that mean other are still at a disadvantage... yes... will I still argue that houses are over priced... yes.
I do believe the problem with the average salary these days is some are earning much more than it and many are earning much less than it. I can see my brother and many friends who don't have a chance of buying and its not down to laziness as it is made out here, they are working hard for little money to pay constantly rising rent.
I will add my wages are more than the 17k they where years ago, but even now I know many people who earn a lot less than 17k.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

The figure I posted is median so 50% of people working full time in the northwest earn more than £24K 75% earn over £17k.. Unfortunately there have always been people who can’t afford to buy.0 -
Pearcy - I think people object to you attuide of moaning about how hard it is and then as others have shown you cleared mass personal debt and saved up dep. you have done well and worked hard that's not in question but the attuide you have of being this type of hero for the HPC who feels he can comment as he has a house doesn't wash0

Can I just say I have nothing to do with HPC.
I must say the correction does seem to be on the way which is nothing but good news and stagnation is the lest painful way of reducing houses in real terms. All we need now is tougher rules on landlords and maybe this country can stop being slaves just to have a roof over there head.
Maybe its a case of I am not happy pulling the ladder up now I have made it.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

True, as not all Baby Boomers have a stash of 'ill gotten' unearned gains.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
