Fair enough - I guess what people are saying is you managed to save up 30k effectively in 3 years so if you can do it it's proof others can so houses are not out of reach of people - excluding your debt you save up 9k - 4.5k each - there is nothing special about that so that's proof houses are affordable0

I do still think property is over priced in an unfair way, on the flip side I could pay it and get on with life or pay it for somebody else.
I have made the best of a bad situation and feel happy enough with that.
So you have some sympathy for all the boomers who bought in the 70s and 80s when prices were pretty much the same as they are now in relation to wages.0 -

On top of that, we had to buy a Spectrum ZX or BBC Micro with 16Kbyte memory for around £300-400.
You can get a nice Intel Core I7 system for that money now.

Unless you were geek not many people brought them though. They weren't the must have for the masses as "equivalents" are today. At that time they wren't being upgraded to ZX1.ZX.2, ZX.3 every 12 months either."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... It proves that houses are affordable to me, with that I have a high wage in a cheap area so I am hardly a typical example.grizzly1911 wrote: »Unless you were geek not many people brought them though.
