Pigpen you genius. I already do this with ketchup, well I did but now everyone has decided they like the value stuff. I will do an experiment and see how it goes with the cereal. Only trouble is it means buying the posh stuff to begin with. I have plastic cereal tubs but they very quickly sussed it out when I tried putting value stuff in them.0

Someone has to empty the box.If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

Mix them together, and gradually increase the amount of value in the mix until you get to 100%
Or just buy a HUGE box of cornflakes & say "no other cereals until this has all gone", then buy a HUGE box of something else. This worked with my kids, one of their most popular birthday treats was a box of their favourite cereal all to themself!0 -
Due to some very generous donations to our breakfast club we have a huge amount of cornflakes and unfortunately as we have loads of different cereals the cornflakes aren't being eaten. We have considered the option of just waiting until it's all we have left but we have so much that it would probably be out of date by then especially as we keep getting given more
So, I can use the cornflakes in Home Ec classes but need some ideas, obviously there's crispy cakes and I've got the cornflakes tart recipe from the recipe thread - although that might be quite expensive with the jam and golden syrup.
So does anyone have any other recipes or ideas that would appeal to secondary school pupils but that don't need loads of other expensive ingredients?
Thank you:DI was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly

Not tried it myself but cornflake chicken, using the cornflakes instead of breadcrumbs.0

You could crush them and use them instead of breadcrumbs on most recipes, such as chicken goujons, fish sticks, chicken fillets, or on top of pasta bakes perhaps. Have to say that crispy cakes (or crispy slice topped with mini eggs or smarties) get my vote everytime

you might get a bit of millage out of design a chocolate crispy cake if you consider you can mix with;
milk choc
dark choc
white choc
choc/syrup mix
you can add other bits
coconut
chocchips
chopped apricots
currants
dried fruit
smarties
they can be different shapes eg in a case/ spooned on to a tray
you could take the angle of using them to design a breakfast bar and healthy stuff like oats and honey...take an easter angle and ask to design a new nest type product
good luckonwards and upwards0
