My daughter has just started the phase of wanting new cereals, eating them for 2 days and not wanting to touch them again ! I am trying her on the little boxes to choose one she likes, I live in hope that she'll find one she will actually eat
Does anyone have any ideas what I can do with the left over stuff (without using chocolate - I'm allergic to it) I would just eat the stuff myself but to be truthful is horrible!
Thanks

You can crush things like cornflakes and rice krispies to coat chicken nuggets instead of breadcrumbs.0

That's terrible
My mum used to make *cornflake crunch* Stewed apple topped with cornfalkes that had been stirred into melted demerara, syrup and butter. Leave to cool and serve with evaporated milk, for that authentic 1970s feel :T :T

how about the weetabix cake? Surely you could adapt it to other cereals? It's somewhere on this thread, I'm afraid I don't know how to post links properly, but I'm sure if you search you can find it.

Omg, we used to have that nearly everyday at school! lolStarting my DMP Journey.0 -
My two went through this phase; what we do now is put out a selection of boxes on the dining room table, along with different juices, etc., for that bed and breakfast feel ... and the cereals soon get eaten up, especially as we let them concoct 'mixes' e.g. weetabix and weetos ... each 'mix' must contain either weetabix or oatibix ...That's Numberwang!0

If I have breakfast cereal that isn't getting eaten (I like to try new ones myself and sometimes find I don't like it e.g. Oat Granola) or crumbs from the bottom of packets, I use it up in a crumble.
Just use your usual recipe but replace up to half the flour with breakfast cereal. If its a sugary cereal reduce the amount of sugar you use.
With some types of cereal you need to whizz up the crumble mix in a food processor but I always make my crumble this way anyway.0 -
Thanks for those ideas. The one with marshmellows sounds great, can't wait to give it a try!0

Actually that has inspired me. I've got some fruit frozen in the freezer and some jars of apple sauce which get opened but not finished so I will mix these for the base . Plus I can use the half finished butter that no-one will finish plus unfinished cereal for the top
I've got teenagers who are always hungry so this will look like I've made a bit effort for them rather than just using up left overs!

We've seemed to accumulate some cereal that no-one will eat for some reason. It's mainly own-brand Cheerios-type stuff, and Sugar Puffs, so pretty sweet stuff (hence why I don't eat it - hate sweet cereal
. DH and DS are just plain fussy )
What can I do to use it up? Quite frankly it's been sitting in the cupboard for months, so it's not fresh. I don't really want to make chocolate crispy cake type things as they would just be too sweet.
Any ideas?0
