Hmm I was uninspired by boden this season and the only thing tempting at sale price was their towelling play suits and shorts, which, let's face it are going to get about a days worth of use if any lol! I'm a bit of a shopaholic for the kids and they have far too many clothes but they do (for the most part) get used by all 3 of them! Joules is normally good but thy seem to sell it everywhere now. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing. My youngest has 4 polos which she refused to wear to nursery coz she got teased about 'being age 3'. When she was 4. Coz the pools have a big 3 on them! Kids, eh?

Last years Boden was much better. My son got about 20 tops in the sale last summer and they have been his Nursery wardrobe this year. This year he's had maybe 6 at most. I buy way too much - I think he has enough to wear a different thing every day for two months or so. No wonder I am utterly skint.

I refuse to pay joules prices plus i dont even think the stuff is that cute anyway. boden i like their boys stuff but a lot of the applique tops this season were quite scary or just plain boring.

Primark is awful for kids. Its good for throw away adult stuff but the kids stuff isnt good enough even for nursery. tiny sizing and after 1 wash its either out of shape, fraying or shrunk so its even tinier.

Im a sucker for next baby boys clothes. their little checked shirts and dungarees outfits are so adorbs. I ony buy my sleepsuits from next too. My baby wears cloth nappies so i need a bit of extra crotch room lol
Next girls stuff is a bit boring. & ive noticed quite a lot of it is mini adult trendy wendy clothes. I dont like dressing my 3 yr old in something i would wear.

My children are 15 & 13 and when they were younger I bought nothing but Next as their clothes were such good quality for the price, but there's been a definite drop in quality since then - their kids' clothes are worth sale prices, but no more (IMO).

Primark stuff is dreadful, I'm no snob but it's a false economy to buy cheap clothes that fall to pieces when you could spend a few pounds more for something that'll last.

I think it depends in who you're buying for. The only place I tend to buy my little girl (toddler) clothes is Next. Each season tends to be hit and miss, their shoes are are terrible in size for younger children but I love their cardigans for younger girls (although the quality is somewhat questionable) But then buying for kids it only has to last a year anyway. They have some really cute things for younger girls but when you start buying in the older girls category (which goes as low as 3years) it gets very grown up but you do get a good selection of items that are age appropriate in my opinion.

I don't personally buy much clothes wise from Next as the general rule of thumb is you have to buy one size down to get your correct size. Being a size six means most item I can't buy unless it's baggy style jumpers, cardigans and possibly dresses but normal tops and trousers are a no go. Their shoes fit really well though.

As far as quality goes it's no worse than anywhere else, and in the sale it's just as cheap as anywhere else. I refuse to buy primark over the news stories of child labour and selling things like padded bras and thongs for very young children (they were taken off shelves when highlighted in a news report though). Surprisingly they are just as expensive as somewhere like Tesco which I think hike their prices considering it's main function is not a clothes shop.

I like their childrens bedroom range too and in the sales the price is reasonable. I like vertbaudet's stuff as well but thats about it in terms of childrens rooms and in the sale Next is deffo cheaper and much quicker to receive.

Got about half of my VIP order so far and I must say i am not impressed by the quality of some of the kids clothing.

Non stretchy tops/tshirts and trousers fit only for the skinniest children- no way are the sizes what they say and I go up two sizes for my kids!

As for the colours - at least 4 items I have received the colour seems to be a totally different shade than that in the catalogue! They must make extra stuff for the sales as some items do not look like they should.

Glad to say I will save some money as I will be making a few returns.

I got excited about the VIP as I always do but now don't know why as clothes are not on a par with M&S, George or TU clothing . After washing next clothing I seem to notice them shrinking very quickly these days only after a few wears/

The Christmas sale is always much better. Will save the pounds for then!!:o
  • Im pleased with my orfer. However, I'm not happy with a couple of items. They look completely different online. And I only have 8 days to return the items! And, my local Next store does not accept returns!!!!!

They should be almost back to normal by now glitter. There is usually only a wee corner with sale stock left by now although it obvs depends opn stock levels/ how successful the sale has been in your local store!
