Hi all, it appearsI can post properly from my OH's comp, well, when I get him off of it! :jI seem to have focussed on specific rooms rather than levels this weekend. As I dont use the hobbies/spare bedroom much I have delegated all responsibility for it to my OH who does use it. And who is off ill till January from uni, I thought that one or two rooms wouldn't overload him too much while hes recovering (am I being too harsh/optimistic?). As he is here full time while I am not, I have also asked him to keep the bathroom ticking over and I can deepclean as needed.

ETA: Sounds like I'm really mean to OH, he did join in a HHC on thurs evening when I got home. Sadly the new meds have dodgy side effect - poor soul

Hi again. You all sound really busy today!

Since my last post I have: done all the ironing, put away towels washed and dried yesterday, tidied up bathroom and kitchen and sorted a whole heap of magazines & papers, put away books bought at charity shop last week (they had been just sat there!), put away wild bird food and fed them - again!

We have had a second lot of fledglings from the starlings, who are so funny! They spend so much time squabbling over the food it all gets knocked on the floor!! The robins keep a beady eye on proceedings and swoop down and take what they want. Not many thrushes or blackbirds this year, but still privileged to have the wrens, who are so delightful. It's rare for them to come to the table but they do love the birdbath - the babies were SO cute, it brought a tear to my eye. Babies seem to have flown the nest but adults still here.

Don't intend to do much now except watch tennis! OH on both lunch and tea duties - he's doing tuna toastie and salad for lunch and a Spag Bol (his best dish - except I typed that as a slag bol!) for tonight and I will have a well deserved rest! Like many men he gets away with a lot of the day to day stuff, but he knows when my mind is made up and will quite happily step forward - I'm doing nothing else!!!

Bye for now and I hope you all enjoy your day. (Also - thank you to the flylady who pointed us towards the checklist, sorry, but I can't seem to scroll back to get your name. I will take a look at that, it looks quite interesting.)

Oh you must live closish to me :j:j It is going through our town WGC today but I am going to have to miss it :( as DS2 has just notified me that expedition will be back early so I need to be in Bourne End at 1:30 and it goes through our town at 1:40. Never mind.

MIL used to live outside Harpenden so I know WGC well. We had the torch yesterday Dusty, it was in Chelmsford, Bishops Stortford and around Stansted Airport. We live in GD, in the centre of all those places and not within the 10 miles that 95% of the population is. We'll be on the news next week as the 4 yearly Flitch Trials take place here, it is widely covered in the news and brings the place to a standstill. Why does it have to be the same weekend as DS1's 18th birthday. Wail!!!!

I think DS2's knee is better. He didn't get out of bed in time to go with DH in the car to the regatta at the rec. He's got up and tidied his room and has walked down there to play in the football tournament.

Seriously heavy rain earlier. Our patio was under 3 inches of water and we live at the top of a hill.

4 loads of washing done. 3 x TD. Hovered hall, kitchen and dining room, dusted skirting boards and radiators in the said rooms. Just ironed all the school stuff (prioritising in case I get too engrossed watching the tennis) , now to start on the rest of the ironing.

Hi all, nothing here, just a quick b&q visit, then been scrapbooking. But sort of running out of space so will need to go get more inserts. Have got as far as jan last year, but an awful lot happened after then...

Just put it all away and putting feet up, kids are in Bridlington apparently. No idea when they are due home, but hope it stays dry for them...

Worst hangover in my life was developed in Harpenden - Harpenden Hall rings a bell?

The water levels are rising again here, OH has had to lift the patio drain cover to stop it coming in the back door . Not much we can do about the patio at this end, the water runs down the slope and pools outside the living room patio door. Glorious sunshine an hour ago though.

DS2 going to school in Harpenden in September, debating whether to be sneaky and put DS3 down there on sibling rule, much better school than our local (where I'm a Governor) but obviously in the next town.

I was in BS last week for cricket, lovely cricket ground there.

Mumto5 do you have a child near to the age of 10? Just thinking we could meet up in the summer holidays if you are about.

DS2 back, had a good time but glad to be home, I have all the soaking stuff to wash and dry.

    Torch done by DH, DS1&3

Just having a cuppa then, bake a cake, clean the shower room and I think put the tent out on the line now in the dry spell oh and pick raspberries too. See you all in an hour!

Hex hope the water stays at bay, are you heading south at all over the summer?

WM and TD been going here all morning. Kids all in because it's raining and there doing my head in..

I've also got my meal plan done for the week so i need to put in an online shop (so not going near a supermarket with my lot). Bathroom need a good clean and kids all need dunked plus there moaning thats there's nothing to eat so i'll have to do some baking.

Coffee first then i'll off. :D
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.
