The DV-154 DVD player features a multitude of video and audio playback options, including DivX (Plays Divx 6) . Housed behind an elegant half mirror front, this slim unit is a punch worthy of any Hollywood heavyweight.
Oh and its region free and has progressive scan, better deal than Martins advert.

The S-Video output... what is that? Could it be the round output that allows you to plug it into a Tv that does not have a scart socket but instead what I believe is called a "RT" socket??“…the ‘insatiability doctrine – we spend money we don’t have, on things we don’t need, to make impressions that don’t last, on people we don’t care about.” Professor Tim Jackson

Getting it from Argos would be convenient.“…the ‘insatiability doctrine – we spend money we don’t have, on things we don’t need, to make impressions that don’t last, on people we don’t care about.” Professor Tim Jackson

I have found one that has DivX and XVid capabilty aswell as being multi-region all for just £30.54 delivered!
It is the Umax Kazuki DVD-2700X MPEG4/DivX/DVD Player

Seems like a good deal to me, has anyone purchased this product and has anyone bought from SVP before?
Is this the cheapest Multi-Region, DivX and Xvid player?
Si
Have just been on and purchased on of these. Will let you know how it goes.0 -
Can't speak for the Kazuki DVD-2700X player but I bought a Kazuki DVD-7200X about 9 months ago fron SVP for about £32. It has been faultless and also can read from memory cards and usb devices as well as being multi-regional. DiVX's are no problem.
SVP in my experience are the best supplier of quality blank DVD +/- R and RW also blank CD's. The service has always been of top quality. Have a good gander through their site as they supply all kinds of interesting related items.

Sorry, that should have read DVD-7400X not 7200X0

I bought a Philips DIVX player about a year ago from France, and the quality of the DIVX movies that I've downloaded has been pretty useless. However, it can't be the source files as if I use divx-to-DVD converter and burn them to DVD they play fine (although at probably the equivalent of SVHS quality rather than full DVD)
It's particularly when the shots are "panning", which I guess means a lot of the picture is changing. The picture really jitters. These movies are almost unwatchable and make my wife feel sick they are so bad (literally).
Perhaps it's just my Philips player?? Perhaps it doesn't have a powerful enough CODEC chip??? Perhaps I don't know what I'm talking about.
Anyway, just wanted to share my experience of DIVX and see if anyone has suggestions.0 -
I have a DIVX player and couldn't be without it. I have a Phillips one with a VCR built in. If I were to go out and buy a new one I would get this one http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/104108 Its a few quid more expensive but can upscale regular DVD's or DIVX's (which actually can be better quality than DVD format) to HD, so when you get a new telly that can do HD you are already there, and if you have got one already then you can make the most of it. Its also got a card reader so you can see your digicam photos at HD also.0

I think it might be a mixture of both the files and your player, i can convert DVD's and notice almost no differance between the DVD and the DIVX ....... multipass encoding is the way to go though.0 -
