Nah, you & the scrapman did a good thing, it's called "reusing" and is way better than "recycling"0

Two things come to mind on reading that -
1. Was it a reputable garage that did the MOT and not a kwik fit type place ?
2. If it was a decent garage that mot'd it and it was genuinely that dangerous then how did you get the car home from the MOT with dodgy brakes and a wheel hanging off ?
ETA - Maybe the scrappy put the car up on a ramp , checked it over and thought it wasn't as bad as the MOT suggested ?
I had a Mk 3 Mondeo fail an MOT on emissions around 2009 , the readings were way over the allowed limits , the garage said the engine was gone and to either scrap the car or rebuild the engine at a cost of around £600.
I changed a £15 breather valve , cleaned the air intake and manifold out , the car passed the emissions test and was ok on the emissions on the next two mot tests.
I sold it on last year but it's passed another mot , not bad for a wrecked engine.0 -
Yes it was a reputable garage been using them for years.
Didn't have to drive it home, luckily the garage is at the end of my road
Sending V5C/3 today.
Car is still up for sale, cant see anyone buying it in that state for the price :rotfl:0 -

Please share the scrap man's eBay username so I can avoid buying cars from him. Not because the car is dangerous, but the fact that he is an obvious con man by saying he is scrapping it when he is not.0
