I have received a speedy reply!
But it is not a TRO . They sent a proposal for a TRO (which I'm guessing is not proof that a TRO is in place?).
I have repeated my request to see the TRO - will get back to the forum when I get it.0 -
36 vicar lane- put this in google maps and turn around until you see the bus gate.
I have asked for the TRO and they have sent about 12 separate docs none of which are the TRO , I have asked for it for a 3rd time now - will keep you posted.
Also, does the writing on the road look ok to you? :cool:0 -
That isnt a proper bus gate for starters !
Below the blue sign there is a time plate, that should not be there for a bus gate ! bus gates are 24-7
The road markings are non compliant as said earlier in the thread - unless the council have got authorised drawings from the dept for transport. You need to ask council for the dft authorised drawings for the bus gate - vicar lane junction with kirkgate. If they cant provide them they are stuffed.
I'm in Leeds tomorrow so will have a look to see if the markings etc are still the same. Defo need to see the tro though. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
I did an image search for bus gate and they generally show traffic restriction signs i.e No Motor Vehicles and underneath "Except buses" or a compulsory turn sign
The Vicar lane image from google maps doesn't show any legal restriction signs.0 -

The blue bus sign is ok for bus gates as it means buses only, its the time plate underneath that it falls down on the way it is shown there, it should have a 953.2 ONLY sign underneath and the road should be marked as per a 1048.4 diagram http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2002/3113/images/uksi_20023113_en_154You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
Right then...just been down vicar lane and good job as things have changed somewhat.
The Bus Gate road markings have gone - replaced by bus only.
The blue bus signs have also gone and have been replaced by a no vehicles sign and plated no vehicles except buses and taxis 5am - 10pm.
Imo I dont think its still correctly signed as :
1 the road marking says bus only
2 the plate says buses and taxis
There are signs on the lead upto the gate and they are in a prominent position so are easily read, however they could be obscured by buses waiting at the bus stops down there.
I would say someone has challenged this gate before and won hence the markings and signs being changed, id start looking at the pcn and nto when you get it for flaws in the paperwork. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
That was fast. Doesn't alter the fact the op says it was still clearly labelled "Bus Gate" on the lane when he drove down it.fatbadger2 wrote: »Hi
I accidentally drove into a lane labelled 'bus gate'. .........I was just wondering if that term is in fact allowed to be printed on the road instead of bus lane? ..........0 -
What if it was clearly labelled "Flying saucers" ? If the markings aren't legal then they are meaningless.0

A Friend of mine just paid two £30 PCN's for going through a bus gate in Liverpool. I told him to appeal them but he didn't bother, two things wrong with this "bus gate"
1 No warning at beginning of the street so you have to drive up to the signs to know, then do a three point turn! (He had a van and catering trailer so didn't) but why he done it twice gawd knows!
2 No buses go down this route!
Then the day after he paid them the council suspended it!
