Whoops, really falling properly off the wagon this weekend. This time went into Liberty and at the REN counter bought the F10 smooth and renew mask and hydra calm youth defense serum.

The mask will go straight into usage - it's an exfoliating mask but by enzymes not gritty scrub and it really does make my skin smoother, without scratching it as most scrubs do. I have a few face scrubs (mainly of the free sample variety) and am going to use them on my body instead - they make my already red cheeks worse.

The serum I don't really need yet, got a bare minerals one almost finished and another L'occitane one part finished to get through... But I do prefer the REN one to both, will just have to save till those are finished. I have dreams of simplifying my life and sticking to a few key brands and REN would definitely be one of the ones I would choose.

The sales lady then said she'd give me some free samples - and she was very generous - got 5 x 5 ml samples, none of which I've used before.

    - hydra calm cleansing gel
    - hydra calm cleansing milk
    - hydra calm global protection day cream
    - frankincense revitalising night cream
    - invisible pores detox mask

I would also give the sales lady credit for not trying to sell me the more expensive radiance renewal mask instead of the F10, she reckoned the former would irritate my sensitive skin. Nice to encounter people who don't try to rip you off.

Came home having walked for miles today and balanced the spend slightly with a UU - Weleda foot balm, WNBA - it's ok but there are better out there.

    Some UU's for me;

The Body Shop - Vitamin E moisture serum - WBA - light, not oily - I like this for hot days when a moisturiser is too much.
Elemis - Pro-Collagen Quartz Lift Mask - WNBA I didn't feel it did much. Maybe aimed at older skin though?
Sanctuary - Body Scrub - WNBA smelt nice but not scrubby enough - back to my HG St. Ives!

    UU:
l’Occitaine Body Lotion and shower gel - WNBA i dont like the smell
Antipodes day cream - WBA, my skin loved this, it drank it up!
John Masters shampoo - WNBA i don't think this cleaned as well as others.
bare Minerals night treatment - def WNBA. i started using this again and it gave me proper cystic acne thats cleared up when i stopped so this has gone straight in the bin.

i had an epic NPI today, debenhams have started stocking £35 Illamasqua lucky boxes with one or two products that they name shades for and 5 other surprise ones. I very nearly caved twice but realised it would be £35 i had to spend on a sephora set i actually wanted :rotfl:

No more UU, but lots of splutterers fingers crossed for more UU, before the end of the month.
  • Evening ladies

I'm a bit late but if I found £100 I would spend it on lovely eyeshadow palettes (and sweets), being on this challenge means I haven't bought new eyeshadows for ages and they are so pretty :)

Tokkiandoliver - your little dog looks very cute!

I have 2 UU, probably the last for the month.

Liz Earle Botanical Shine shampoo - WNBA, didn't do my hair any favours and it's £8 for a bottle

Liz Earle Sheer Skin tint sachet, medium shade - WNBA, not a fan of the texture or smell, I still have the darkest shade sachet left but don't think I will ever be tanned enough to use it!
No more buying unnecessary toiletries 2018

I hope Emma's birthday meal was nice Valm. We opted for the Jamie's Feast which is a sharing plater for two with anti pasti and a selection of dishes including asparagus risotto, pollo millenase (sp?), pollenta chips and chicken arrabietta. It was lush and cost £15 per person. I was quite impressed with the menu. First time trying this one. My best friend I was with is a die hard Gordon Ramsey fan and we normally head to one of his places on my birthday. I am quite happy either wAy as it is part of my birthday treat.

Thanks Fiasco. Emma's birthday meal was lovely. Yours sounds gorgeous. Emma also had a fab time at Pizza Hut last night with her friends. She has a lovely group of close friends now.

Well done. Before this challenge if that had been me I would have bought the Illamasqua as it was great value and still spent on the kit I wanted from Sephora not caring about how much I spent. In some ways I miss those days! lol

I bought my holiday read(s) yesterday. Went into The Works and for once (for me) they had a decent selection of books. From the offer "3 for £5.00" I got Knots and Crosses by Ian Rankin, Wire in the Blood by Val McDermid and the first True Blood book (can't remember the title as they are all similar - don't they all start "Dead ...." - maybe it's Dead before Dusk?). Anyway, I have read Wire in the Blood and the True Blood one before but having recently read The Retribution fancied owning a copy of WITB to read them both again. Haven't read any of the Rebus books but know people rave about them so picked up the first one. Picked up the True Blood one because otherwise I'd have ended up with all thrillers and I can't constantly read them. I also bought a copy of Robinson Crusoe to read in between (if I get time). Realised afterwards that buying a book about someone who gets shipwrecked when I'm going on a cruise may not be ideal.

We collected our holiday tickets from the Travel Agent yesterday as well which was v. exciting.

Have a good Monday everyone. x
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!
