Not a great month. I've tossed away an Estee Lauder GWP size mascara, it was getting clumpy. Replaced with another GWP size from the never ending stash. Everything that is opened is full sized. The travel sized from the road trip below will be used up as soon as the full sized stuff is drained.

Had to head out to BC for a Celebration of Life. Oldest bestie had a death in her family and needed an extra set of hands to deal with her family. I'd have went anyways. Longstory short? Nearly turned into my big fat gyspy funeral complete with a relative in full RCMP red serge and an attitude that stank. An expensive cake tossed by the family. Managed to hussle the parents of the deceased out in under four minutes before the feces on the fan started whirling.

I'm on a no spend binge because I'm doing a 10km in Las Vegas in December and had better get some extra cash together. My bestie is going with her daughter and we are going to have a few drinks to get over the funeral day from hell.

If I found the cash, I'd get a manicure and a coffee and dessert at the posh Italian coffee shop down the road.

Hello wondercollie - I was wondering where you had got to. That funeral sounds like something that would happen in my DH's family:eek:. Good luck with the 10k.

Pets - I have a tabby cat whose my princess, she came to us cause no-one wanted her and she lives a pampered life :D

    Tokki I LOVE you're dog :D

£100?? Probably buy more vintage inspired clothing! Someone called me vintage girl today which made me smile :D

UU :j Philosophy Egg Nog Showergel etc 900ml  WMBA Got this in the Boots sale so would maybe get again at 50% off :D

900ml of shower gel - OMG that must have been a LHJ.

A little uu today, I have a Next Just Pink gift set and have finished off the scrub today, the body lotion and shower gel won't be far behind. WBA as all the items were pleasant to use and build up the scent when used with the perfume.

If you found £100 on the ground, what would you buy? (You can't say..I'd pay bills or other rational things haha)

No doubt it would go on shoes!!!

Deo for this weather - I have found my Mitchum solid stick to be great. Half price in Asda at the mo too.

I seem to be doing quite well on the not buying toiletries front - if I could only say the same about buying clothes!!!! I have no idea what has gotten into me:eek::eek::eek: I seem to be constantly using the 'I need this for my holidays' phrase. It has been years since I have been on what I would call a 'true' summer holiday - I always go to the states to see my family in November (thanksgiving!) each yr. Although we do trott off to Florida/Arizona now and then, it's still usually December, so not the height of summer.

Going to LV in Sept has brought out the shopping monster in me!!!

Question for you ladies - on the subject of shopping....

In March I bought some shoe on the high street as they were reduced and would be good for my holidays (!). I put them on in the house for the first time yesterday and the beads on the shoe have started to fall off. So, I packaged them up back in the box with the reciept and was ready to return them on Monday. Talking to a friend last nigh, she thinks I have a cheek, as I have had them for 4 months. But as I pointed out, I have only had them on my feet for less than an hour and they are falling appart. So in my mind they are faulty goods and I am 'entitled' to return them. If I had just decided I did not want/like them that would be a case of 'tough luck'!.

What do you guys think?? Do I have a case, or just cheeky??

well my september Elle arrived complete with blue eyeliner. its being GA straight away lol.

scrappie - try it anyway. i think your entitled to a refund. my mum did this once with a top, bought it, put it away, wore it months later and found a tiny hole in it. we had a proper battle on our hands getting a refund because they tried every trick in the book to get out of it. in the end i made the woman go up 3 floors to the accounts dept to get my mums debenhams card statement from 4 months ago as proof of purchase :rotfl:

Scrappie - the shoes obviously are not up to standard but I think you may have a job on getting a refund, although it could depend on where you bought them. Not sure of your official rights but I would check that out first.

A little uu from yesterday that I had forgotten - L'oreal sensitive eye make up remover, I was complaining that this wouldn't remove my make up and I find that it doesn't if I use UD primer potion but with my M&S primer it does the job fine. Have replaced it with a Garnier 2 in 1 from the stash.

Have been shopping today and no toiletries purchased, did buy a brand new pair of leather ballerina shoes for DD for £1 from a charity shop and several fitted sheets from Matalan for £1.80 each so very pleased.

  • IN's:
Loreal elvive smoothing conditioner - It was only a £1 and I'm trying to save some money, so it appears like £land hair products for me for the next few months.

Also, thanks to itzybitzy for the heads up on the stila products at £land. Got one for a friend :)

    UU

The Body Shop, Carrot Moisture Cream, 50ml - WBA if in the sale. I can't put my finger on it, but it has a lovely smell and makes my skin so very soft :)
Virgin Vie Cooling Foot Fizz - After about 6 years, this has finally been used up...and i am a bit gutted as it is fantastic! So good for cooling down tired, hot feet.
Loreal Elive Triple Resist Shampoo, 10ml - WMBA if cheap. Not the most spectacular shampoo in the world
Elizabeth Arden Optimizing Skin Serum, 2ml - WNBA, this felt more like a moisturiser rather than a serum! Smelled lovely though!

Back after a few days break, used up a few sachets (Maybelline BB, Garnier skin care, Pantene Aqua-Light shampoo & conditioner). All have been reported on previously so won't do that.
    I got
a new hot brush from Amazon Vine - It's just arrived, has a much bigger barrel than I normally use but it does look very nice. I'm a bit dubious about the claim that keratin is transferred to hair via the brush during use but hey-ho, gift horses and all that.
Also a Non Bought IN, some Nivea Pure & Natural night cream samples (1.5 ml x 3).
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.
  • Another UU:

Nivea soft moisturising cream 75ml - Got this from a friend, wnba as I do prefer slightly scented products.
