Has anyone been watching this programme?
http://www.nnuh.nhs.uk/News.asp?ID=1126
Fascinating, I don't eat a massive amount of sugar, but will certainly be trying to cut down further after watching this and I think a lot of the sun damage on my hands is from driving:eek::eek:
Willowbee, I have given in and ordered the REN freebies, ready for my holiday in August:o - 21 good days, 2 purchase days so far.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
I have another UU thanks to DH Olay Total Effects Wake Up Wonder Moisturiser 7ml. I've found a different Olay mini to give him. I'm starting to get low on moisturisers I don't want I'll soon get to the point where its let him use the good stuff or get something else for him.0

Hello everyone, not posted for a while so I have a few UU
I'm glad some of you are finally seeing some sunshine, it hasn't stopped raining all day in Edinburgh
so I have had proper Monday blues all day
Green People Fruitful Nights moisturiser - WMBA, not sure if it did anything in particular for my skin but I would try it again if I was ordering other products on their website.
Alpha H Liquid Gold samples x2 - I got these free when I ordered the Micro Cleanse, I think I prefer the Micro Cleanse and wouldn't want to use 2 glycolic acid products at the same time because I don't think my skin could handle it! This definitely tingled when I put it on which always worries me but it is apparently meant to do that.
Toni & Guy Detox shampoo - WNBA, this took me about 5 years to get through because I only used it about once a fortnight so I am glad to be rid of it! I think I will stick to Head & Shoulders as an occasional deep cleanse shampoo because it always leaves my hair felling really clean.
Maybelline Pressed Powder (think it said something about minerals in the proper name but that rubbed off a long time ago) WNBA, this went really hard about half way through and I couldn't apply it with the sponge applicator any more. It was such a faff having to use a brush in the morning
Very pleased (with myself) to report no ins so far :j but I am seeing my friend who does my Avon tomorrow so that won't last much longer! No more buying unnecessary toiletries 2018
35 UU / 13 unnecessary ins0 -
Its my nieces birthday end of next week and she won't let me buy her a present or take her out as she says she doesn't want a fuss. Trying to decide how to persuade her, not sure what to do as want to get her something, but don't want to buy the wrong things.0

One more UU, an Elnet hairspray. WBA, it's the best hairspray. Mostly I like Aveda for hair styling products but it beats their hair spray and it's much cheaper.
Gave away a Cialte nail polish I got free with a magazine a while ago - was a bright pink which doesn't suit my skin tone but my friend has a handbag with stripes of that colour in so gave it to her along with some body shop body butter as a hand cream.
Had a bit of an urge to splurge at the weekend but managed to leave my local beauty shop empty handed. Helped they mainly stock Jessica nail polishes which never seem to set, their choice of OPI colours was very limited.
As to the questions.
1. I'm an actuary which probably won't mean much to most people as we are a bit of a rare breed (I didn't know what one was till 3 weeks before I applied for my first graduate job as an actuary). Dictionary.com defines us as "a person who computes premium rates, dividends, risks, etc., according to probabilities based on statistical records." Sounds exciting huh?
2. My dream holiday home would be somewhere in Italy, maybe the Amalfi coast. Though I rather like variety in my holidays so I'd really rather go somewhere different each year. If I had to stick to one country for holidays it would definitely be Italy anyway - lots of very different and very lovely places to visit there.0 -
Some outs:
A nivea shower gel and a st ives facial exfoliator...0 -
Todays question: What would you class your "style" as?
I like to think that my style would be yummy mummy in floaty dresses and always being immaculately turned out. Sadly the reality is more nicely fitted jeans and skinny top with either sandals or (for most of this year) DM boots
No ins outs or UU's though my BB spluttered earlier  but I think there's loads left in it.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
Kaz - I know that I should be asleep but I couldn't resist letting you know that you are bang on trend with your DM boots!

(I still have my pair that I wore everyday as a grunge girl at 6th Form :rotfl:)
Most of the time I'm deeply unstylish as I'm in my pjs or some hybrid of pjs and cardi/jumper.It's a shame as I love my clothes and I'm lucky to have some really nice things (vintagy stuff bought from charity shops or via eBay). I usually wear dresses as they're comfy and easy and make you look like you've made an effort! I usually try to add something boyish though, so I'm not too girly. (I don't think I'll ever fully escape that 90s Grunge/glam contrast as that was when I formed my taste as a teen.) In an attempt to be more grown up I bought lots of silk dresses. Oasis and Warehouse repeat the same shapes in different prints each year and I've bought most of mine for between 99p and £3 on eBay!
I think that people sell them on having worn them once for a 'special occasion' but they make really nice day dresses. (It's important to me to wear soft things as my body hurts enough as it is...)
Night night! Xx0 -
