    Anyway I will ask on this thread while it is still running.

    If a policy sets a trigger for sickness do they have to honour it before arranging a hearing. Like if it is 6 in 12 months do they have to wait until 6 has been hit

    No. I'm sure in the policy wording it will say "to be used at managers discretion" or something similar. If they decide someone is taking the mick they might pull them in for a meeting anyway. If they get an indication someone has pulled a sickie to go to another job or an interview or for any reason other than being too ill to work then they can take actions anyway.

    In other words... Don't worry about whether your sickness is an issue, just go to work unless you are too sick to work.
