I am aware of that I was just saying you could actually vomit and be made to clean it up and not allowed home.

Not allowed? I doubt they can physically stop you leaving if you are too ill to work, and if a doctor signs you off they have to accept that.

    Employers don't own you.

If you say 'can I go home' and they say 'no' that's a no. I have been there.

No doctor will sign you off for being sick and besides there is a 4 days wait to see my doctor.

Its not school! If you need to go home you say "Sorry, but I'm not well enough to work, I need to go home, I'll ring later on to let you know if I'll be in tomorrow."

    Where do you work?

I used to work for a telecoms company, and it was an automatic warning at either 10 days or 3 periods within a 12 month rolling period. So if you had had 3 separate days you would have a warning on your record. I got knocked off my bicycle on the way home from work one night - with witnesses from the company, signed off for 2 weeks due to a fractured collarbone and still got a warning when I went back to work as I had had 10 days off!
    Don't Panic - and carry a towel

That is harsh, our company do issue meeting after 10 days, or 6 periods but outcome is different for everyone on it's own merits.

3 times in 12 month is very harsh. It only allows one sickness per 4 month

not harsh at all, thats how some companies do it for all staff so it's fair.

i suppose sinceit is a telecom service picking up bugs is unlikley but 3 in 12 months is harsh 6 is about right.

That is 1 period of sick per 2 month

picking up bugs is unlikely? Eh? You can pick up loads of things on the way to work but that's not the point.
