picking up bugs is unlikely? Eh? You can pick up loads of things on the way to work but that's not the point.

Why exactly are we discussing this? Brett appears to know what his employers sickness policy is, he seems to know when he will or will not breach it, and he seems to be well aware that he isn't at any risk. So what was the point of the question?

I meant good in my managers eyes.

So in your old company if you did get a first warning how many days where you allowed in the following 6 month before it invoked the second warning

Anyway I will ask on this thread while it is still running.

If a policy sets a trigger for sickness do they have to honour it before arranging a hearing. Like if it is 6 in 12 months do they have to wait until 6 has been hit

If you have a contract, then yes they would have to wait for the 6, though they could warn you that you have reached the limit already

Why are you asking this? Are you planning to take some sick days?
To be honest Brett, I think you have exhausted the good will on this thread.
There are three types of people in this world. Those who can count and those who can't.

Yes, you are only on 4, but it is 4 in 6 months, so they could have a quiet chat to warn you that you are averaging out over the 6 allowed in 12 months. This would not really count for anything, but if there is a promotion opportunity and you have 4 periods off sick in 6 months and another person has 1, then who do you think they will choose for promotion?
