    replace the !!! with i*d*e*a*l*o*.co.uk

£487 at pixmania (who I would go for in this list) and 5.5% cash back from quidco on top.

It's pretty decent. The motion processing on the mid range samsungs isn't mind blowing, and you will still see some artifacting on long panning shots, and possibly swimming lines around fast moving people, but for that money, you'd expect that.

the smart features are well realised, but you'll need a dongle or ethernet connecting in order to use them.

One thing that drives me nuts with samsungs is their colour oversaturation. If you're not going to calibrate properly, you'll see that greens tend to be almost neon compared to a panasonic. The only way to remedy this is to change your picture preset to movie and actually calibrate the colours yourself, but in my experience, people tend to like colour oversaturation (no idea why).

I'd recommend a panasonic ET5 for its motion and colour quality, but the E5 is also good, even if its motion is quite jerky.

    Hi
Try looking at www.avforums.com click on forums, video electronics, then 'what TV should i buy'. Can get quite indepth though. From what i can remember from reading AV mags, Panasonic plasmas seem to win the most, though in the recent issue of 'what hifi and video' (i think) a 40ish Sony at approx £1200 won

Well I bought a 50" 3D LG plasma from RS for £500 a couple of weeks ago. 5 year warranty for £50. Plasmas are best for fast moving images.

And it is almost as slim as any LED/LCD tv I have seen. Half the depth of my old 42" LG plasma which is about 4 years old.

Glad, even though Currys will price match you will NOT get a warranty anywhere near the RS price, and the service at RS knocks spots of Currys/Dixons/Comet

As said before, any questions etc visit the AVForums website. You won't find a single poster on there who would suggest you buy from Currys etc

I've got no problem buying from Currys AFTER doing my research. Just don't take advice from a salesperson. If you're willing to go without the 5 year warranty of JL or that Richer offer, you can sometimes get the best price there.

Not so much a comment on the TV, but Pixmania have a bad rep on MSE

I second John Lewis they have a price match (with terms) but are often competitive anyway and often provide 5 year guarantees..

Whilst we have Panasonic plasma , and Samsung LCD have recently purchased an LG LED for a bedroom used for TV and gaming and I think it is cracking TV. Looks nice, slim, good picture and sound OK.

Had it from RGB, delivered next day, very good price..

Would certainly look at LG for our next main TV.

Wouldn't go down the supermarket own brand stuff for a main TV.

The Richer Sounds price match is restrictive IMO.
