I see there is nothing listed for Saturday and Sunday. Does that mean I have the weekend off, except normal things like cooking and washing? Oh and thanks for the welcome. I will do my best to keep up!

    Hi All

Haven't been flying this week at all, sorry :o I have been ticking over, swiping etc but something else always came up

However today I blitzed the kitchen and the downstairs loo they now sparkle :rotfl: Also made butternut squash soup and potatoe and leek soup and froze the extra portions. Put three loads of washing in and TD them. DW on and unloaded, twice.

Tomorrow DH, DD and DS are out for the afternoon so will...
    blitz the lounge
    vacuum everywhere downstairs
sort out washing from today and put away
    cook roast dinner
do tray bake and wheatabix tray bake
catch up on course work-6wks missed one assignment overdue and a project to make, get evaluated and hand in
    Blitz upstairs bathroom
do the hotspot in the kitchen-help
    Also do dailies

    That should do it :rotfl:

Having read the op I need to know the following:
Do you manage to get all that done and work full time? I suddenly feel like a failure as a wife and mother!!

If not is there a less scary timetable?
I leave home at 7.45 am and arrive back at 7.30pm 5 days a week.

Did try a search but couldnt find anything, thanks

I am out of the house similar hours to you annie and have a 2 year old at home. I dont get everything done on list but tend to give myself half an hour after ds has gone to bed to do as much on the list as i can, then collapse! amazing how much you can get done in half an hour once you just get started. Next week i am planning to do a 15min tidy of the listed room before i leave in the morning so i can just clean in the evening. however that will rely on me actually getting up when my alarm goes off!

Just do what you can, as the place slowly gets tidier youl e able to achieve more and more in your little bit of evening time.

I usually leave home at 7.20 (sometimes earlier if I go to the gym before work) and get home some time after 5.30. I go to the gym a couple of evenings a week and I also tutor at home one evening and Saturday morning, and sometimes have marking to do at home. I also go out a couple of evenings a week but make sure my chores get done first :o

It's just me and my 16 year old DD at home and a small house but it's amazing how much mess we can make if I don't keep on top of it.

I am not superwoman - absolutely the opposite, but this thread has transformed me and made me much more organised. The first couple of weeks are the hardest as there is more to do but once you're on top of it, I find I can whizz through in about half an hour - if I have more time I do more, if I have less then less gets done, but I aim for half an hour a day.

It may sound silly, but sometimes I put my cooker timer on for 15 minutes and tell myself I will do as much as I can on that day's list in that time, and then do the same later on, to cover my full half hour. Half an hour a day is do-able - I am proof of that, and it makes you feel great being on top of it and having a clean and tidy house (most of the time). Once you have done it well (which means initially you may not cover everything on the list) it becomes quicker as cleaning regularly means everything needs less time the next time it is on the list.

I look out for the list on an evening (sad I know but I'm sure I'm not the only one!) and sometimes even try to get ahead of myself by doing a couple of bits before I go to bed. Makes me feel better starting off the day ahead!

Try it and see - I was sceptical at first but you may surprise yourself. Good luck

    Thank you both.
I am going to give myself my usual 2 hours tomorrow morning, gets the worst of it done. its all I can do to get myself out on time in the morning, so I am going to try the 15mins with kitchen timer each evening this coming week and see how I get on.
Since my working hours got longer a few years ago, my home always seems to look like i am part way through tidying, it would be so nice to get back on top of things. I hate coming home to a mess, its just not relaxing.

    thanks for the support

Morning all. Bright and sunny it is here, too :)

I've done one load of clothes washing, plus have washed the soaked tea towels and dish cloths.

I've spent about 5 minutes in each room this morning, giving them each a bit of a straighten up.

    I've tidied the Linen cupboard.

I've tidied the cupboard in the laundry, also cleaned/wiped down WM, Dryer and laundry tub.

Puppy has been for her morning walk.

    Left to do:
    Some business stuff
    Vacuum through house.

Have a great Sunday everyone :)
