mum of two, sometimes you need to take time off. At the end of the day it is only a house - not worth getting stressed about. set yourself an achievable target instead of a list too long to post. Just do your swish n swipes and stop till tomorrow. Works for me when I have had enough.
pigpen/lil me - ds1 (4 next week) has finally agreed to wear pants at home. we had first dry day this week after a year of trying. He usually gets bored around 11am and does them all in his pants after that.
Pottering gently and my two have just nodded off so a quick dash round upstairs instead of having to do it tonight. Could just snore on the other sofa instead.....'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Hope everyone's having a good day! I've sorted out my paperwork today! The trouble is I sit down at my desk to sort it out and then I think 'mmm - lets see what's going on on MSE' and before you know it, it's time for dinner! I made lovely Yoghurt Cake from arkonite_babe's fantastic recipe. Thanks! It's great because the base is a carton of yoghurt so you can vary the flavour - today's was black cherry and it is delicious! I don't think it'll last very long here! OH wants it every week - the yoghurt cake, I mean!
Anyway, I'm trying to type this with one hand because I'm eating an apple with the other; oh, now I've made the mouse all sticky! Nicki - icons are brilliant.KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

Hex.. mine was 2 last November.. they are usualy trained by 2 but she is the baby, I am lazy and way too busy to be potty training so she was left.. but she has been pooing in her potty for about 6 months and would have been so easy to do.. today she just took the initiative and went for it herself.. I think she realised I'd never get round to it lol. I've found training the boys REALLY hard work.. the oldest took 3 days when he was 2 and 3 motnhs and the other 2 boys were almost 4 before they got the hang of it and the youngest wore nappies to bed until he was 6.5. My 6 years old daughter still wets every night so wears nappies for bed, she isn't too reliable during the day either.. but is getting better. We do think there is a problem there though as she has improperly formed labia, she had no opening to her labia major when she was born it was still sealed so she wee'd behind a layer of skin and it would force itself out of a tiny hole in the extra hymen (that's what they decided to call it) we aren't certain how deep the fault it.. and can't check until she is much older (at least 14 they said) The older 2 girls were trained at 18 months and the 4 year old was about 20 months. I feel really lazy now for not trying sooner!!
Contrary to popular belief the ones who wore cloth nappies were MUCH harder to train and much older and took much longer than the ones in disposables.. maybe because the ones in 'sposies weren't used to being wet and hated it.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

They can smell chicken in the fridge and won't get out from under my feet cos they think i will feed them it. Will they never learn.
kitchen a bit of a mess cos there is a fair old bit of washing up to do
had a mega tidy up putting things away upstairs, so it looks less cluttered for now and i should be able to get things almost sorted in a couple of hour clean up. I was thinking to myself why do we not do this for ourselves rather than just when guests come.
I thinki will do a wash up now while waiting for DH to get in and while there is nowt on the telly. Then there will be one less place to do in the morning. I will be having a rum and coke, and sod the diet this evening.
Michelle, x0 -
For goodness sake Michelle, superwoman or what?? What a list. Well done you:T :T :T :T :T
I've stopped feeling sorry for myself and have taken all your advice (thanks a lot) It is only mess, I left it all this afternoon and took my husbands guide dog for a lovely walk in the park (husband was off work today) It was sunny here today and quite mild, brought the girls home from school and used some good old bribery ( I ordered you that Ashley Tishdale CD, but you only get it when your [STRIKE]crap[/STRIKE] lovely possessions are out of the living room and you tidy your bedroom this weekend.) Well worth the £7.99 I say:D
I hoovered, dusted, gathered all washing including school uniforms, cooked and washed up straight away after tea. I can see kitchen worktops again, took a little break to talk to my sister on the phone, put dishes away, and am going to a meeting at 9pm so I can come home to a tidy place.
Thanks again for all your support. Upstairs is still bad, but like you said, one thing at a time and a quick swish and swipe can do wonders.
Pigpen You are an inspiration to all of us, I only have 2 kids. New start on Monday for both of us..0 -
Well done mumoftwo
Friday was a good day for me . . . cleaned bathroom and ensuite; sorted recycling; walked puppy; did some business finance stuff; worked in MILs garden; paid some bills.
Today we're taking puppy to the beach; changing master bed; three loads of laundry; and digging foundations for garden shed out the backMaybe a wee bit of gardening too. I am NOT going to be stressed today :wall:
Have a great Saturday, everyoneIf there is to be any peace, it will come through being, not having - Henry MillerM.A.C.A.W Member . . Wannabe Flybaby0 -
Wow mumoftwo you really have caught up well!! Pass some of that motivation this way please
Also you are allowed to call it a motivator not a bribe when the reward is given after the required behaviour
so no need to feel guilty about bribing them
Michelle, you always manage to do loads, I think I need some of what you take on a morning to get motivated too.
Denisegood morning, wish we had the weather to go to the beach, think I could just do with a dose of sunshine!
I've done very little more since this afternoon, I did get the shopping done, took Holly to the vets, she definately has kennel cough and had started throwing up blood so is now on anti biotics poor puppy.
I made tea, then ended up collapsing on the bed for just over an hour with the kids watching Thomas and the Magical Railroad. First time I've ever watched it properly as when they are watching things I usually use it as catch up time, enjoyed it actually.
Going to give kitchen a quick once over, sort through fridge and see what needs using quick, just found yoghurt with tomorrows date on so needs doing, remake my bed (spilt something on sheets this morning so had to wash again) put some washing on airers (uniforms) then bedtime. One day I might be more organised...........

Pigpen You are an inspiration to all of us, I only have 2 kids. New start on Monday for both of us..
And I've got 5 so I'm smack in the middle!
You are right sis, Pigpen is an inspiration. I will make a new start on monday as well.. and not write the whole week off as I had already done in my head.
It went like:
"Have to work afternoons next week.. hmmm Wednesday morning I'm taking little grub to playgroup so that's wednesday down the tubes..
Thursday morning is dentis appointment and I'm already ........ myself, so that's thursday gone... Friday morning I've got a meeting about child care stuff.. so Friday's a gonner too!! I will do NO cleaning next week!"
But I'm not having it! I will do what I can, when I can, even if it's 15 minutes!!
My house needs to be tidy and clean before I leave for Scotland.
Weekend now is for washing... washing and more washing..
And a birthday visit.
For now.. I've got to do another child pick-up run.. sigh..
