I must admit I will watch JK ....... but could and would never consider going on it..... I really dont get why people do it; Id be beyond mortified.Light Bulb Moment - 11th Nov 2004 - Debt Free Day - 25th Mar 2011 :j0

I wouldn't qualify as my fingernails are clean. Watch when they put their fingers to their face. Euck!
Someone described it as modern day Bedlam. No, not at all, those poor people had no choice. These people love their time on camera, it's the closest they'll ever get to the opening rounds of the X Factor.
As for JK, yes he's a showman but his real life values are worthwhile.
His first wife didn't rate him as a husband but says he was a fantastic father and would indeed walk through the night to see his daughter.
For those who think the show is beneath them, do you watch Emmerdale, Coronation St or Eastenders?0 -

Definitely not. I dont believe in airing my dirty laundry in public.
I would however love my Ex to get the JK treatment. He only sees the children rarely which is heartbreaking for them.SPC #1813

He is a particularly nasty parasite that needs squashing.
I'm not really one for saying society is going to the dogs etc. But really, to belong to a society that allows, wants and encourages this kind of thing is kind of embarrassing.
Mmm, maybe he is, maybe he ain't, but I don't think he's any worse than any journalist persuading the public at large that anyone in receipt of benefits is a waster and fecjless fool, or many of the outspoken members on this forum. The only difference is that he's yelling in their faces and before a camera.
Let's face it, if the audience had no appetite for such Romanesque arena style sport, the shows wouldn't be made.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -
I actually know 2 people who went on it (one has since passed away) but they were top talking points around these parts for a long time. Not for the actual subjects, (which apparently were threesomes  and cheating ) but for the fact it made us Barnsley folk look and sound like total idiots.
The telly makes the Barnsley accent sound rather horrible.
I have an old schoolfriend who is a big fan and got tickets for the audience. She reckoned it was fantastic.
Personally I'd never go on, nor watch it live. Hope the Yanks keep him forever, because JK is a horrible, pompous up-yer-own-kyber man.BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.
comping = nowt more thrillin' than winnin':T :j0 -
A few months back I was watching the show and the "subject" was a woman who for various reasons had not brought her daughter up. Later on I got a message of a relative asking if I had recognised this person as she was actually a cousin who I hadn't saw for years!
Anyhow JK really ripped her to shreds and she ended up in tears and losing her rag. Of course he shouted her down and made her look a fool.
I don't think that anyone will ever "win" against him on TV and a great majority of people just end up looking ridiculous. As for me... no chance, never, ever, ever............................................................0 -
The show is beneath me and no, they are all pretty bad as well, watching them isn't something I would enjoy, at all.For those who think the show is beneath them, do you watch Emmerdale, Coronation St or Eastenders?
But they are in a completely different category, one is real peoples lives being ruined and abused in the pursuit of "entertainment" and the other is just trashy fiction tv.
How many journalists, or idiot members of this forum would go on tv and rant at someone the way JK does? Yes, not many, (ie almost none) easy to write behind a barrier.gravitytolls wrote: »Mmm, maybe he is, maybe he ain't, but I don't think he's any worse than any journalist persuading the public at large that anyone in receipt of benefits is a waster and fecjless fool, or many of the outspoken members on this forum. In a way I admire him, to be so callous and unfeeling needs a certain type of person, he is that person and has risen to fill a gap.
The gap is the Romanesque arena sport you talk about. Obviously there is a hole in the market for such trash, people need to look down on other people, just so they can tell themselves they are OK and normal.
At least the Romans were honest about it and admitted they wanted to see blood sports, we have to dress it up in some daft pseudo crap about wanting to save relationships and the like.
Enough to make you sick.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0
