  • No idea, according to Facebook she hasn't read that message yet - which possibly means she looked at my quote and thought, 'No bleeping way.'
  • She still hasn't read the message, so I shall mentally write that one off and carry on regardless!

Slightly better day finance-wise, I've had some proofreading through and a nice American lady has spent £165 on eBay :D
  • Quick bit of maths to note, while I remember, courtesy of the MSE income tax calculator.

I need £1,200 a month net to cover my running costs. That means I need a gross income of £17,000 a year, or £1,417 a month, or £327 a week, assuming that my Class 2 and Class 4 NI payments roughly equal Class 1s for an employed person. £327 a week is £65.40 five days a week, or 1hr 27 mins of audio transcription at my private rate, or 2hrs 25mins of audio transcription at the agency rate or 26 and a bit proofread files.

Oooh that sounds doable and leaves you lots of spare time as well!
    Must use my stash up!

Well, note quite as much spare time as it looks, you need to multiply those transcription times by three to get the typing time :)

I have had my training on Mr Regular Private Client's back office system (that sounds vaguely rude!) and it all seems fairly straightforward. My log-in for it has just been emailed over and I have some meeting notes to put onto it, so I'll give it a go tomorrow.

Beads and proofreading were quiet, but thanks to the nice American lady's order I've managed to pay myself £500 and all bead money earned over the next ten days can go to next month's expenses. I filled in the time in between getting back from the post office and starting my training by mending Finn's ripped turnout rug - it was just a simple tear where he'd caught it on something, so easy enough to stitch up myself rather than needing the local rug repairer's expert skills.

I've done a little bit of tidying in the annexe as well, all the empty cardboard boxes on the ground floor have been flattened and squished into one box. My recycling bin might be full up until next Monday, but I can take them to the recycling centre when we go into town on Saturday.

So far for tomorrow I've got two proofreading files (but they're full proofreads, which means the client wants me to listen through the whole file rather than just reading it for sense and spelling, so pay a bit better), two orders to post and the aforementioned meeting notes to put onto the client's system. I think the rest of the day will involve stock counting all my charms in preparation for listing them on eBay at clearance prices.
  • Didn't get the charms done - another three proofreading files came in and I ended up doing three hours' work for Mr RPC, who had a rare day in the office and was catching up on things. Totting it all up, I've earned a smidge under £48 for the typing, admin and proofreading today - not bad, but not enough to support me when the eBay sales run out :(

I will get there though :)

Not the largest of nibbles out of the debt elephant, but it does take me over into £17,000 paid off :T:T:T You can see how dramatically the bead sales have dropped off - just £727 banked this week. Hopefully I'll have some time today to start working on those charms, I've done one of my proofreading files already, just one more in my inbox at the moment, and Mr RPC hasn't been in touch yet (but the day is still young!).
