Delurking to say that I hope you are all safe too and I'm hoping you're not one of the many without power.
I'm in Troon in South West Scotland (for those south of the border
) and it was pretty rough here but I know you were getting it a lot worse.
Wind calmed down for 2 or 3 hours but 2nd storm moving in now.
Thinking of you.

Stay safe Ayeshalush, the west coast looks like its getting a battering too. Just been out and collected as much debris as I could, amazing how some of it blew ! Bally heavy bits of wood ! Had a wee walk around and stashed smaller stuff in sheds. On the plus side .. My windows to the south and west are incredibly clean now !Its just a bad day, Not a bad life .. :cool:0

Thanks all - we had the power off for 33 hours, but touch wood we're back on now. It's an interesting experience to lie in bed at 4am and feel your house shaking around you! We've got away with it pretty lightly, considering - about a dozen roof tiles have gone (some of them landed about 250 metres away on the other side of the house), Finn's field shelter is leaning a bit and two of the onduline roof sheets on it have lifted at the edge, but we're all (human and animal) fine and everything else can be mended

Glad everyone else is safe too xx0 -

Well, I didn't quite get everything on my list done today, but I got a head-start on packing tomorrow's orders, a load of laundry through the machine, a bit of vacuuming and all my proofreading done, so that's a reasonable chunk of tomorrow's stuff done
The forecast says we're going back to 60mph tomorrow, the local weather guru reckons nearer 80mph - I should be fine here, but Mr Minx is supposed to be flying out of Wick just as it peaks!! Reckon I might have him home tomorrow night
