How completely lovely for your friend to have a nomination and that you are still looking out for her after (all this:o ) time

Great news the price of oil is lower, better than nothing. However I am not surprised that your day turned manic lol. It follows you sometimes.

Kind of hard not to, she's in the press quite a lot these days
The bead shop is closing slowly, I've been too busy with other stuff to concentrate on it really, so it's just ticking along.
Anyway, it's Friday, so I'm flying in to do some scores (shouldn't really be here, I'm swamped with work today!). The 'last week' figure is actually from 31st December.
Business
Overdraft: -£-5,590.00 / -£5,410.00 +£180.00
Business total: -£-5,590.00 / -£5,410.00 +£180.00
Personal
Halifax card: -£5,250.00 / -£5,190.00 +£60.00
Personal total: -£5,250.00 / -£5,190.00 +£60.00
Grand total: -£10,840.00 / -£10,600.00 +£240.00
A gnat's whisker from £17,000 paid off

Saturday always seems to be a spendy day at the moment. The Tesco bill really wasn't that bad, £58 and that included six chicken breasts and three packs of mince (which were 3 for £10 and in the RFQS section, so we got all three for £7!).
Then we popped into the local agricultural store, because they stock Alex Clark greetings cards and it's my mother's other half's birthday next week. There was a big pile of stuff on a podium in the middle of the reception area, all on sale, so I started to have a rummage through. Some gorgeous leather Aigle ankle boots reduced to £15, but unfortunately they were a little bit small (I can sometimes wear a 4, but these had a pointed toe) and then I spotted the riding hats. Well, I last fell off Finn in September 2013 and am, very naughtily, still using the same hat, even though I hit a rock with it. I'm a 7 1/4 in old money, which means sometimes I'm a 3 and sometimes I'm a 3 1/2 in modern sizes - one of them was a 3 1/2 and it fitted me

£15 reduced from £45 because it didn't have a box

Then I put the last bag in the Miele doing the cleaning this afternoon, so it was off to eBay for some replacements (£6.49 - I'm trying the 'compatible' ones for once rather than the branded) and some more of the boys' forage balancer (I'm dropping Merlin down to the cheaper one that Finn's on, so it's £35.95 for 3.6kg). I think I'm going to need another bag of copra for them before the end of the month as well.
I do keep getting worried about my cashflow this month, but I also keep forgetting I haven't paid myself anything from the bead shop yet this month either! I've got £100 allocated to me in YNAB at the moment, I'm only going to take a maximum of £500 out because I've got the tax bill money coming out of that account at the end of the month as well.0 -
I said to my son this week, save your money love, me and dad don't want you to be in the same position we are when your our age, he replied "don't worry mum I won't be, I won't have horses"
. Bright kid lol!
I'm worrying about money this month, because I don't have any well not mine only on overdraft or credit cards so I'm trying not to spend at all.
Any snow up there with you? We had another covering here this morning
£250 shopping, diesel and any other spends
December 16- January 15 £345.06/250.00 -£95.06
£2 saving a day for christmas 2017 £0/£730
Total debt paid off before 26 December 2017 £3142.31/14,053.85 = £10911.54 left to go0 -
Our snow has all melted now, but yesterday's drive into town on solid white roads was a bit scary in places!
I've had a fairly chilled-out day - spent a couple of hours outside this morning, taking three barrow-loads of manure off the bottom field in addition to my normal mucking out whilst listening to the latest Smart Passive Income podcast about how to build a $1 million business on Amazon. I can see how what they were suggesting would work, but I can also see how many of the people who will try their method could go spectacularly wrong with it if they're not as meticulous in their research as the guy who was being interviewed on the podcast. It did make my retailing senses start twitching again though!
Mr Minx vanished off on an epic journey to Glasgow at lunchtime, so I spent a happy afternoon with my feet up on the sofa, woodburner on, catching up with some of the stuff recorded on the Sky box, and am embarrassed to admit that I cried my eyes out watching Vicky Pattinson leaving Geordie Shore
:o:o:o:o:o:o:o Then it was horses and my proofreading shift, which I have just finished - great bunch of transcripts this evening, lots of A grades given out

Ah lovely, makes life easier for you doing the PR work. Sounds like some bargains were had too on your travels.

I've just got to hope things pick up soon - total for transcription work and proofreading so far this month is just under £200

Only £250 banked from beads this morning as well, so the slowdown there has really started, and because I'm not buying any more stock I need to put more money aside for VAT. 0 -
I should obviously come on here and worry about lack of work more often - a friend of a friend has just asked for a quote for five hours of transcription
Fingers crossed she accepts, it's on tape and there aren't too many people who can work with those these days. Oh crumbs, just had a thought, I'd better check it's normal cassettes, not miniature dictaphone tapes.... 0 -
