  • Enjoy your day and hope the dog is good for you and the vet - is she nervous when there?

Now is the time to be taking those pics and you can post monthly updates ;):);):) just to keep you motivated of course.

Well done on closing down the bead shop and moving on. I am sure it will be worth it in the end and know it was hard for you to do xx

The first time she ever went there after we adopted her, she was 12 months old and had had an allergic reaction to the stitches from her spay which had got infected, so they gave her a Synulox antibiotic injection, which is one of the stingy ones, and she threw herself off the table screaming :( We had to go back less than a month later for her booster and she bit the vet before the needle got anywhere near her. Two years on and she's actually got better, she'll stand for an injection as long as I or one of the vet nurses have her in a nice, tight cuddle hold and are making lots of encouraging noises, but she's still not happy about it.

:D Well Caz those photos are reassuring. You're not perfect after all. Phew.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Oh, very far from it, I assure you :D:D:D:D:p:p:p:p:p
  • Heating oil ordered - hopefully it'll be a bit less than the 62p a litre they were charging when I last ordered in December 2013! Should be delivered this week and I don't have to pay for it until next month.

The workout is looking a bit dodgy, as I wrenched my back pulling a stuck wheelbarrow out of the muckheap and then compounded the problem by bending over for fifteen minutes shampooing the dog so I don't present the vets with a Thing From The Swamp later. Am dosed up on ibuprofen, will see how it feels later.

On the plus side though, the Garmin screen was blank when I looked at it, so I've popped it back on charge and it said 0% battery, so hopefully the freezing was caused by it not charging properly in the first place and this will sort it out.
  • Dog has had her boosters - £56, though that did include two lots of worming tablets as well. I went to see the pharmacist for advice on painkillers and he took one look at me and said he thought I was going to need something prescription-strength, but recommended some gel to use along with cycling paracetamol and ibuprofen. I could barely get out of the car when I got home, so I wasn't best pleased to see that my horse had climbed over the fence into next door's field again and this time wasn't fancying being caught!

Everyone is now back where they should be and Mr Minx kindly went out and hooked up the battery to the fence for me, as I couldn't lift the battery without yelling!
  • Happy things:
    • The Garmin appears to be working again
    • I can walk more or less normally (bending still tricky!)
    • I had a best offer on the opened tub of Acid Ease I put on eBay which was acceptable - £36.95 into my bank account after PayPal and eBay fees
    • The agency has paid me for last month's proofreading and transcription
    • I had a couple of proofreading jobs through today
    • My regular private transcription client contacted me a) with work and b) to say that his normal lead typist was no longer working and would I be interested in taking on the bulk of his transcription work? Yes please!
    • Merlin has stayed in his own field all day (and, judging by the glare I got this evening, has had a zap off the fence!)

    Happy things indeed :j.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • Bit of a non-descript day really - sent out my orders, did some proofreading, now waiting for some dictation to come through from Mr Regular Private Client.

We're due to have high winds here tonight, 100mph+, so Mr Minx and I have strapped down everything moveable. Bit weird waiting for it to come in, it's almost completely calm at the moment.
