If you don't follow the posted link but go to Dell's website and put N03153 into the search box, select 90 CAR it now comes up with Vista as the OS."...IT'S FRUITY!"0 -
Dual Core Dell 6400 for £386, 15.4" widescreen, 120gb HD, 1gig ram, Vista, DVD writer, wifi, 6 cell battery.

Great Deal if you don't fancy the 1501 at £351.0 -
Why Windows Media Centre Edition on a laptop anyway....? not quite right, you'd be better of getting XP home. MCE has some great features, but they'll be wasted if you're not using your laptop as a Media Centre.0

I think this is the better buy - if only because you get a full 12 month CAR warranty with it and standard battery improvement (6 cell instead of 4)0 -
The great thing about the dell deal in the post above is that you can spec a much better screen with bigger resolustion for £43, is this worth it?
5.4" Wide Screen WXGA (1280 x 800) Display [subtract £47.00]
15.4" Wide Screen WXGA (1280 x 800) Display with TrueLife™ [subtract £23.50]
Enjoy movies and photos like never before, with vivid and crisp images thanks to the TrueLife display
15.4" UltraSharp™ Wide Screen WXGA+ (1440x900) TFT Display with TrueLife™ [Included in Price]This signature is not mine!0 -
If I wanted a laptop primarily for using the internet, with a bit of Word and excel thrown in for good emasure, would these be just the job?0
-
yes dachshund. it will do the job with no problem.0

Cheers matey. I just want it as cheap as possible, really.
The £351 Vista version looks pretty nifty for the money - best I've seen yet at £350ish I think. I take it it has wi-fi? Can't actually see it mentioned anywhere on there0 -
The 1501 at £351 does has wireless, but at the moment the £386 deal is a much better bet for an extra £35. It has Dual Core=Faster, 6 cell=longer on battery, 1yrs collect and return rather than 3 months.
The £386 is the best.0 -
Cheers for that post above, I was about to order from Dell and didn't notice the £386 deal, seems better value. Do you know what software you get with it apart from MS Works?0
