Have you tried gfk hotspur pam? They are doing call centres.

Thanks Aesop, i've just registered with them . The website stated they were looking for people in my area, so fingers-crossed they take me on :T.

Well oh my god just got back from my boot sale and made a fantastic £484.27 . after paying my pitch fee of £8.00

On my own I am well and truely Kn******D. But so happy.

I have never seen so many people , there were 2 large fields full of stalls and i have just about sold out of all my hand Knit stock so will have to get my needles busy for next month.

Hope others have had such a good day.

Ha, ha ~ well done teeni, that's a fantastic result :D. That knocks the 25p i found in the washing machine into a cocked hat :D

Really pleased for you Teeni, but by contrast, after my pitch fee of £10 I only made a very measly profit of £8.20. The fair was huge and all the sellers were moaning it meant that buyers had too much choice today and none of us did well. Quite honestly it's put me off ever doing a boot fair again, I put hours of work in, lost a lot of sleep and made virtually nothing.

To add insult to injury my second job rang me and offered me a cover shift, which I would have done had I not been bootfairing, and I would have earnt £34 after tax. And a whole Ebay listing day has been lost, as since getting back from the boot fair I have been so tired from the lack of sleep and all the lifting that I've been asleep until now.

Trying to see the positive that I'm £8.20 richer than I was this morning, but after something that's taken a whole day of my life up and wasn't much fun it's pretty hard to feel positive :(

My previous boot fairs only made £20 and £45 so I think it's time I gave up on this as a way to make cash!

Maybe I need to get my knit on?! ;)

Oh what a shame but think positive you are richer if only be a little amount. You have £75.00 you wouldnt have had if you hadnt done the sales.

everyone was the same around me complaining there was too many stalls and people were not looking properly as there was too much choice.

I sold a lot of yarn and knitting needles to holiday makers who hadnt thought about taking their knitting with them!!!

I had made a lot of cotton lace cardigans and dresses so people didnt see them as winter things. The knitted Jewellery also was very successful, my darling hubby had a nice bath ready for me when i came home and cooked sunday lunch so i have been spoilt today .

I have listed a few things on ebay but not much as I didnt have a lot left.

I have decided to start on my christmas stuff now and have the next sale when i get back from my sons wedding in cyprus, wedding is end of aug and we are on hoiday until the 24th September. Do you think the end of sept is too early to start selling christmas gifts?

Thanks Teenie, I guess handmade stuff is the way to go rather than clobber from around the house. If I ever do another one I think I'll take cakes :) This week I'll try and get some stuff listed on Ebay I think before I go away in a couple of weeks.

I think you can probably get away with selling Christmassy stuff that early as long as its gifty rather than massively Christmassy!

Got a 14 hour day tomorrow with working job 1 and job 2 (CANNOT wait until I am debt free and only have to work one job) so I better head off to bed, still shattered, despite a 7 hour snooze when I got back from my boot fair!

    Hope you slept well DBG,
Yesterdays sale will allow me to make the final payment on my ambrose wilson catalogue today AND make a payment towards the o/d with santander. O/d has been reducing slowly over the last 6 months and will after today be down to £125 ( was £1000). If my luck can continue until the end of the month, have some things on ebay, Then it may go below the Hundred by the end of July. With my guarenteed overtime it will be cleared before i go on holday at the end of August. I just cant believe it. The holiday is an essential as it is my sons wedding, not missing that i have waited a long time for him to make an honest woman of his girlfriend but would have been happier if it wasnt in expensive foreign lands

I cant beleive how joining this thread has really focused my mind and made me realise how much more i could be doing than i had been to dealing with my debts.

I think it is because it concentrates on bringing more in rather than reducing the debt, sounds silly but by not concentrating on the debt figures per se it is not so depressing. I feel more in control of my own destiny.

OH and my christmas stuff is gifty just the packaging that makes it christmassy, for example hats and scarf sets, childrens christmas sweaters with characters on etc, mugs and cosies with chocolates and marsh mallow things like that. As i said packaging is christmaasy rather than the items them selves.

I think you have got it spot on there teeni. It is all about creating more funds, not getting into more debt. By creating more funds, and throwing it at the debt, the feel good factor kicks in seeing it reduce :)

well done on yesterday's sales. It just shows by sharing our moneymaking ideas, what wealth of information is out there :)

You have now given people ideas, who would never have thought of things like this. What a great idea, if you live in a tourist area, provide the tourists with something cheaply they can use on holiday. Maybe they will leave with a charity shop when they leave, hence recycling, or take it home with happy memories.

But fab Teeni, just fab :T:T:T:T:T:T

Think you might be our mser of the month :D

And I also find when you are getting disheartened about having no money and moneymaking, reading this thread, boosts you back up again.
  • Yes, feeling a bit more alive now, thank you!

Congrats on paying off your catalogue and paying down your overdraft Teeni, it's such a nice feeling isn't it? :)

I've halved my debt in the last two years, and whilst I'm still skint and hate living like a poor person (but I am a poor person) it's very satisfying seeing that number get smaller and smaller :)
