Hi jasperconran
roadkill is money found on the pavement, buses, road, anywhere that it has been abandoned, (including my washing machine) and no one else has claimed it.0 -
I really want to do a boot fair tomorrow but have no-one to go with me. I don't have a doting boyfriend (or even a non-doting one!), my family will all be busy as it's a Sunday and they are church goers, and none of my friends fancy getting up that early or they don't have anything to sell or are busy... I've even put a Facebook request out but no takers. I have done a couple of boot fairs before and think it could be quite boring on my own. Also, logistically can it work with just one person? Obviously I'll have to take my own food and drink as I won't be able to leave my stall.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has braved doing a boot fair on their own, and if people think it's doable?

For much the same reason as you I am attempting a car boot on my own tomorrow, My daughter came last month with me but her husband is working this week and she doesnt want to take the kids with us as we think they will get bored.
Just hope i dont need to go to the loo or things may get interesting!!!!0 -

Ok Teeni, let's get our alone boot fair on together! :j Even though I'll be going on my own it NEEDS TO BE DONE as I have so much stuff to get rid of and could do with the money!
I'm going to take drinks but will just sip them so I can hopefully get through the morning without a loo break.
I think I may take my wind up radio with me for company, better than nothing!
It's been a couple of years since I've done one, I've got change, bags, a couple of tables, a mat, a chair to sit on... anything else I'm missing? In your opinion is it best to price things or not?CC1 0%: [STRIKE]£6695[/STRIKE] £1432 CC2 0%: [STRIKE]£772[/STRIKE] £902L1 5.2%: [STRIKE]£9067[/STRIKE] £0

I'm doing a car boot on my own tomorrow too, well, also taking my 2yr old :eek I keep her in the car until she can't take it anymore and let her out, she can be quite a handful. I take food/ drinks to keep us amused but I don't take chairs, i find myself not spending too much time browsing stalls where people are sat down, feel like they're watching me so I quickly walk off. I've always stood up which I think is good for business, even if you have no sellers you'll always find something to tidy! I hate prices too, if I see a price on an item I tend to walk away, heard it on a programme once that stickered stalls make less money2025 Mortgage start £378K 2025 Overpayment £103 Savings Challenge 2025 **MONEY MAKES ME HAPPY**0

That about covers everything i think, I need to clear loads too, I am mostly selling hand knits, and wool, but have some other stuff too. My grand children are moaning they cant come to stay as all of the stuff is in the back bedroom on their beds . I sold a load last month ( my first one) and fingers crossed for tomorrow as well.
Think positive, perhaps you will be too busy to be bored, I live in a seaside area and this is the first weekend of the holidays so the site i am going to is likely to be packed with people as the sun is set to shine.
Oh i dont price things if people have to ask it starts a conversation and you can negotiate then.
Good luck hope you sell loads and loads.0
