Men. Why do we put up with them??

OH is driving me potty today. Ignorant toad he is.

Story - He did not buy the car yesterday. Travelled 100miles to Bristol to buy a new car and on the test drive, the thing conked out! So, obviously, he walked away (fast!) but was disappointed as he really wanted the particular car.

Today - ONE DAY after, he has been moaning all day about never getting the car he wants, its not fair, blah blah blah and its doing my head in. He saw an alternative car first thing, but the insurance on it is more than the current car so its a no-go (cos thats the point of selling up and getting a cheaper replacement).

Its him all over. Black or white - no grey area with anything. Its just that because he cannot have it right now, its a problem.

Nevermind - the cash is going straight back in the bank tomorrow to prevent him spending it (!) and he is going to have to wait until the right car comes along - its not as if its urgent.

And until then, my ears are going to be sore from the complaining.
  • Now here is where the essay could come in useful - sigh pointedly as you gather up your books and demand a bit of peace and quiet as you have to get the essay written - smuggle in a cuppa and some biscuits and you can have peace and quiet, get some work done and more importantly have a sore-ears-free cuppa! I know it never works out like that, but everyone can dream! Hope you get a bit of peace and quiet today :)

Hi Charlotte! Been reading your diary. Well done for all the letter writing you've been doing - sounds like a mammoth task but that you are really on top of it! You go girl!
I hope your hubby finds the right car soon!

Confession - didn't get as much of my essay/reading done as I could have. Will get on tonight.

Good news though! Abbey have supplied some of the charges, only from Jan 04 to Sep 05 though. Still waiting for stuff from Jan 01 to Dec 03. And horrifyingly, they have charged me £460 in just 2 years. I never thought it was this much and there are still 3 years of charges I am waiting for.

MFI called and we have a definate agreed the sofa delivery date of Thursday 3rd May! I have essays to write and I need to de-clutter the front room, chuck it all out first, and paint the walls and varnish the floor. I did do a good start on the weekend on the front room and after clearing so much rubbish I feel great!

I have been heartless with my stuff and 90% of it is junk but has a personal attachment. Only those with a strong attachment are being kept and even then only part will be left on display and part stored in the loft. It meant that we could dump (freecycle!) one of the old display cabinets and the room looks much larger already!

Abbey closed my old ISA and have actually sent me a cheque for 1p!!!!

Its a Counter Cheque, should I feel the need to go into a branch and actually take the cash immediately.

I am not sure what I should spend my penny on though............................

Now listen to me Charlotte - 1p is a LOT of money and I don't want you rushing out and spending it all at once, frittering it away on something you don't need......

Well, recieved all the statements from Barclaycard today for Neils account.
The charges only come to £100, but its not the point - but the fact they continued to charge £75 in interest for 6 months before they would agree to freeze it is another story! So, letter in the post today to claim these plus interest. Not a great amount in the scheme of things, but every little off the debt will help.

Got a bargin in Boots! Bought some No7 stuff (3 for 2!) and used my £10 pigsback voucher. The SA scanned the voucher twice, so got £10 of stuff Pigsback free and another £10 cos he was a wally! Paid £1.27.

Picked up the contact lenses today. They had forgotton all about my order (again). But I have them in now and as they are stay in ones, I have to go back tomorrow for a quick eye check.

Hurray on the Boots bargains! I love No7 stuff, especially their tinted moisturiser.

Good luck with Barclaycard, hope you get the charges back!

Barclaycard statements arrived yesterday for my account! I have a query on it though - I did post in the Claims board, but no answer, so can anyone help??
    *******************************************************

I have a Barclaycard I am claiming off and without any problems, I recieved the statements today, but they sold the debt to another company in March this year. I am re-paying this to the new company at an agreeable rate, but I have a few queries about charges on the account prior to it being sold.

There is a £40 charge listed as "OUT OF ORDER CHARGE"
    a) What is this!
    b) Can I claim it back?

At the point the debt was sold, there are two other charges
    "CHRGOFF PURCH FEES of £79"
"CHRGOFF UNPD FIN CH of £35.99"
    a) What on earth are these?
    b) Again, can I claim for these??????

As always, the help is most appreciated

    Charlotte
