  • I have a gadget I bought from Bettaware years ago its like a large bowl that has a spike inside The globe comes apart and you insert the iceberg lettuce on the spike and recover the globe with the top bit. Its the best lettuce keeper I know and I can have a lettuce for at least a fortnight which, as I live alone is very good. I also know that either tearing a bit of lettuce off or using a plastice knife stops it from going brown. But if your a bit broke then just wrap in tin foil I do this with celery and it keeps for ages

Fortnight? That is brilliant and I could do with one of those! Any chance for a picture so I know what I am looking for?
Tin foil? I wrap it in wrapping foil, does tin foil work better?

I thought tin foil is the aluminium one? This one is "plasticky kind of" one?
Edit: otherwise also called "cling film".
  • I buy that value tesco foil. It's silver. So same as tin foil.
The value version of cling film is called tesco value food wrap.
