moneycurious wrote: »Hiydi Hi!!! well i'm finally on the mend - and got some fantastic news been offered a new job so 3 grand better off, with the possibility of promotion. so excited. down side that its funny the higher you climb the less formal you have to be , so suited and booted is now smart casual, so had to order some "best clothes" for work
Congrats on the job! I know what you mean....my lot all wear jeans to work and I found it really weird when I first started! I tend to do a mix so I can still use my old clothes (jeans and suit jackets with a bit of bling seem to be popular!)
Good luck wiv ur new job - u deserve it after the bad luck you've had recently!!Mortgage starting balance 2011 ... £170k today £1.5k

Well, had a busy little day - i've finnally finished all my xmas shopping.... was worried about what to get OH , and then i had a light bulb moment .... i ahve done 3 photo books of our honeymoon and got 25% off so all done for £64.00 . I see it as a way of getting something we would only be getting anyway.
Also got £65.00 income tax back - so thats going straight into the overpayment pot. Since the fraud i am using the old credit card instead of debit card. but still not convinced about using it. On paper i look to have had an expensive month however , i have "subbed" alot of people who have given me the money back in a cheque, so is a rolling figure as it were.
My big expense i suppose is the new work stuff - but thats part of life, and i am looking forward to wearing them as "best " in the mean time.
stitches are healing nicely - but started to ooze abit - so bk to docs on monday - to see if i need another week off just as a precaution.
OH made me laugh last night, he opened the fridge and commented sarcasticly how full it was - granted it had 2 youghurts, 4 lemons, milk, 2 leeks , cheese , boiled cauliflower and butter , oh and a bag of tattys. i just muttered and said that teas this week were all reduced freezes...... and tin using up. Got to get to 1st Dec before i use my store collection card - and then we can have a massive shop.
Got invited to xmas dinner last night by OH parents they want £35 each to go out for lunch - my mum was always making it , but i scoffed and said that we could sit like tweedle dum and dee on a kings banquet for £70, in comparison to our usual shop!!!!
needless to say he muttered and went back to watching the TV.
Has anyone else thought that the nights and house is getting colder all of a sudden - we ran out of wood last night and had to put the HEATING on ....... OH was cursing that i hadnt told him we needed more - but i reminded him that there isnt just me in the house!!!! i am sure after his moan this week he wont be forgetting again!!

Hello,
well aittle stressed , not only have i been saving the pounds whilst been off i have put them on..... grrrr. 1/2 stone in fact.
making me feel fed up - and all i get is go to the gym then!!
On the plus side my new job is on the 7th floor so very long daily walk to teh top - so i wil make sure that i use the stairs even if it kills me!!!!
Negative , i have had confirmation of the job with the starting salary 1500 less than negotiated. so awaiting confirmation on that one, to be honest its still a pay rise but looking my flexi and going on shifts doesnt help.
been scalped yesterday , and glad i have - however needs some time to grow - least it will last till febuary when i am a birdesmaid - it looks drastic but £40 ever 4 months is economical to the £110 i used to spend every 6 weeks.
I kick myself now on how wasteful i have been.
tonights tea is a miss mash of stuff , reduced pate to start ( as needs using up), OH on last nights left overs, me on a reduced risotto, pudding left over jam sponge...... tomorrow , my amazing soup that i made yesterday but needs blending ......... mmmmmmmmmmmmm
getting into the routine prior to going back to work ,and with the shift thing i want to make sure the OH and me are both eating properly as we always try to have a meal a day together..... this will be harder than normal but the pennies will hopefully mean we get to go away once in a while......
OH sawa new car last night , and i said he has to save abit more first...... good things come to those who wait!
Rang for an update of current Mortage - 137600.

I found going to a really good hairdresser makes a big difference too. I'm now a very loyal Toni & Guy customer, and always see the same stylist (camp as christmas and a magician with the scissors) Yes it costs £20 more each visit than going to the local salon but the cut is better and lasts longer meaning I don't have to go so frequently. I've now learned as well that if you time visits properly, I can get a 10% code to soften the blow.

ironically the £110 was off my step mother in law and the £40 is off her daughter - ironic or what.......same shop!!!! fingers xed i will get confirmation of the wage. looking forward to tea already home made soup - made from reduced veg..... cant wait!!!!!
off to rellies now to do their cleaning whilst there - every pennie (or unwanted food item!) helps!!!! toying with putting some bits of flebay again but seem abit off it atm as it seems like i am forever paying flebay fees!!!!!
oh wants to watch 007 tonight but we shall wait and see!!! xxxxxxDec 2011 £141,000 / dec 2013 £135,000/ Jan 2014 £131,000 / July 2014 £129 0000 -

Well 007 was fantastic - the OH fell asleep for the first half then woke up when he heard the shooting bits.
Feeling rather smug as i have just saved £130 off our house and contents insurance with the aa. i was abit nervous about swapping but feeling chuffed about it now. all done and dusted for another year. this means that december will be a skint month, but on the plus side our shopping should be "free" as i have our saver card to use, the old wine rack is looking famished a total of 3 bottles..... but ....... got vodka, aldi special balieys ( very yum), apple sours, archers , 3 bottles of home made gin and vodka, and 3 bottles of champers to hit - i work for a large supermkt part time so come double discount i think i mite treat us to re stocking for the following year!
also found out that i get points with my credit card , so just colleted £10 m n s vouchers - this will buy us a m n s meal for two for our 1 year wedding anniversary. On the down side its the OH's 30th in dec n going out for tea - so first round of drinks is on me for everyone..... just need to get a cake and all will be good.
I really do need to keep my big mouth shut though - friends wanted to go out for tea tomoz, so i stupidly said, dont worry come to ours , i'll cook ......... so thankful that i cleaned from top to bottom ysterday. just need to make spare bed up , and then get cooking tomoz. but suppose that i would be making tea anyway.
please dont laugh buyt cooking :
left over soup that i made earlier in week for starters ( its delish and i over cooked!)
Ckn, and a medlie of veg
vianetta / cheese cake for pud
whilst in the cooking mood, got fish pie to make for monday's tea, and maybe another batch of soup.
our freezer is a bursting point - so going to have to really get to grips with using up until the 1st dec , i say that and then fall foul of the reduction fridge!!!!
no further word from the new job, wondering when i am going to start.....
honeymoon pics came through for the oH's bday / xmas present - looks fab , so wrapped up with a loveley crew shirt , awaiting his big bday!!!!
run out of logs and oh gone for his hair cut with the new ones in the car, so sat here abit chilly , put the heating on for SHOK HORROR 2 hours today - but i was frozen - she says sat here in her thermal trackys and hoody. They are the best thing to come out of my operation!!!!
i can officially say i am missing work now - i appear to have spent more being off than i have done for a very long while - also missing the pennies from my other jobs, hopefully they wont have filled all the xmas shifts up - as we have to be off at xmas - and i can see that getting expensive to !!!!!
