    Hi Moneycurious

Hope you don't mind me stopping by. I had fraud on my account a few years ago - it was right before Xmas and so very stressfull indeed! I hope they sort it out quickly for you.
In answer to your question - they should put you back to the financial state you were before the fraudulent activity. Therefore if you have incurred charges, etc - they should refund those to you.
Not sure you will get anything as 'compensation' for the stress - but that would be down to the individual bank involved I guess.

    Good luck!
  • its awful - my whole familys been affected to . fingers crossed - not to sound greedy - but its the all hassle ..... i just want my pennies back!!! xx

Hi moneycurious - how awful to have been a victim of fraud. I hope that you do receive additional compensation, however as BookWorm says, this would be down to further goodwill from the bank.

I notice that you have a mortgage with Nat**st, and perhaps also bank with them? I also have my mortgage with NWest and a few months ago they royally screwed up my mortgage payments (I ended up paying 2X mortages).
Although it did take numerous phone calls to rectify, they did offer me additional compensation without my asking for this, so *fingers crossed*

Realised today that we havent ever recieved out wedding pics so currently chasing all that up - love the use of a good day!! xx

  • So sorry to hear about the fraud. I was subject to identity fraud myself a few years ago and used to dread checking the post each day to see what else had been opened up in my name. I definitely understand what you mean about being violated, I just hope they get it sorted for you soon. Good luck with your MFW journey x

  • Hidy hi!!
well today was not wat i expected - joined Waitaround's advantage card - got £5 off next 25 shop - easy in there on a sunday - when buying reduced items!!! went to the local "shopping centre" - wanted to get a few bits for xmas - but found nothing - found myself thinking - i wonder if i can get this cheaperon flebays outlet shop!..... nearly bought a karen millen dress in the sale - but that would have blown my op's.... was beautiful but - nope - i resisted. added to this the oh seems to have got a tummy bug - so he needed hydration salts - but on the plus side ( i'm kidding!!) he doesnt want anything to eat - so cobbled together a "nothing " tea in no time!!!! have to admit - got the heating and the woodburner on tonight - house was feeling damp - and needed to get some bits aired off - but doesnt happen very often - and may make oh feel like i am treating him!!!!
putting milage claim in at work tomorrow - so all going in the op pot - makes you really satisfied , but made me feel bad looking at stuff when shopping..............................ttfn
