Is this a crime? If so, what offence.

This is all hypothetical, wink, wink.
Take kids to swimming lessons and generally meet granny there. Car park crowded. I get there first and park. Granny arrives and was dithering about reversing into a space when a flash git drove in and nicked the space she was clearly reversing into.
Somebody (unnamed) was furious and waited until the flash git had disappeared to the gym (big muscles), picked up a match stick and let two of his tyres down. Petty, I know (but felt good).
Is this a crime? If so, what? No damage done, obviously.

Trespass to goods.

And there could be damage to the deflated tyre sidewalls. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
Is that a civil offence as trespass generally seems to be?Je suis sabot...0

So you let someone's tyres down?
Hope you're not on cctv and get lifted for vehicle interference.0 -

Is there such a crime as "vehicle interference"?Je suis sabot...0 -
It can be prosecuted as Criminal Damage (the damage doesn't have to be permanent), but can also be done under s22A Road Traffic Act 1988 (Causing Danger to Road Users)...
Causing danger to road-users.
(1)A person is guilty of an offence if he intentionally and without lawful authority or reasonable cause—
(a)causes anything to be on or over a road, or
(b)interferes with a motor vehicle, trailer or cycle, or
(c)interferes (directly or indirectly) with traffic equipment,
in such circumstances that it would be obvious to a reasonable person that to do so would be dangerous.
Which offence (if any) would be a decision for the CPS to decide.0 -
It wasn't dangerous as the car was in a car park but I can see b being an issue. I bet the person wishes he had worn a balaclava now.....Je suis sabot...0

And if they don't notice, drive off and kill someone because some !!!! let the tyres down?0 -
But a driver is, strictly speaking, supposed to check lots of vital things, including the tyre pressures, before each time they use a vehicle. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

Criminal damage.
You have rendered the vehicle incapable of use. It doesnt matter if the damage is capable of reversal or temporary. You MAY have done permanent damage to the tyres if you let it rest on the sidewalls, or you MAY have caused the driver to do damage if they then drive off without checking (as it would be reasonable to assume that some £$%* hasn't let your tyres down for no good reason).
It#s an absolute !!!!!! move to be honest.
Person finishes their work out, heads off and picks up the orphans they deliver to football practice, and then suffers a blow out due to under-inflated tyres killing 4. Still feeling so smug at revenge on a "flash git?"0
