Voluntary contribution towards school trips

I totally disagree with this and is the exact reason why I get angry with those parents who say that can't contribute towards their kids school trip and risk the whole class missing out. How is buying Next clothes more important that contributing towards a trip? Next clothes even on sale is expensive and certainly not a priority. You can get kids clothes for a few pounds in charity shops and that of better quality than Next. Surely buying babygrows for a child not yet born isn't a priority either.
The big difference is that it is much more rewarding buying new clothes on sale than paying for something you can get other people to pay for instead. I really struggle to believe that any family entitled to tax credits and the rest are not able to budget for school trips. They know they are coming in the year, so it doesn't have to be a case of waiting until getting the notice, but maybe putting £1 a week aside for when it comes.
Read all my thread the trip is tomorrow we have not been paid thanks to Natwest. Yes I asked for cheap babygrows but I am not buying them now.
I do not see how sending my daughter on a school trip is more important than clothing a newborn baby hey she can be naked and let the hospital report me to to social will that make you happy? I should know better than asking on here for advice judging by the time of times I am attacked and always by the same old names ! If you don't like me don't read my posts simple!Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -
I am only saying this because it's the second time you've said the same thing but previous posts can tell you enough to get a picture of things and if the OP had enough money to consider going to the Next sale, or to ask what babygrows to buy earlier on today then you do begin to wonder whether there might be somewhere in the budget for them to find the money for the trip. And if there was the money then the daughter might not have had to go through being told she coudn't go (which I agree is unfair regardless).
Lol I have NEVER said I am going to the next sale and even if I was that is always in July. WE HAVE NO MONEY BECAUSE WE WAS NOT PAID FRIDAY THANKS TO NATWEST AND THE TRIP IS TOMORROW AND MY POINT WAS THE LETTER SAID IT WAS VOLUNTARY. Hopefully now it is in capitals people will be able to read it!Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -

I'm becoming bored by your attitude to this. It seems you have a history of trying to play the system including hiding money so your mother can commit benefit fraud with your help - forget you posted that? Or the fact that you've just bought a new car?
You lack morals. Pay up. Don't expect everyone else to do it for you as you so clearly expect.0 -

Were you only told today about the trip? Why didn't you pay it before when you had money?0 -
Perhaps you could clarify what the trip is and how much the cost is? That might show whether the school is being unreasonable.
Also, you say the trip is tomorrow. I might have missed it, but how much notice did the school give you?0 -

I am a teacher and had to save damn hard to take my own three children to DLP this year and it will probably be a long time before we can afford to go again.
If you couldn't afford to take your child to the cinema would you expect someone else to pay for them??
School trips are not a RIGHT.
How I have lived my life and spent my money in the past before I came into financial difficulty is irrelevant and you must have searched through hundreds of posts to find that one as its very old post!
I do not think you can compare taking your child to the cinema to a school trip!
Those of you that have looked through and picked my life apart you will see I am heavily pregnant why are you trying to cause me so much stress? You would also see the hard time I've had of it recently and that my life hasn't been as rosy as yours yet you still decide to hassle me.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -

We are running a trip to a theme park in a few weeks as a reward - we have asked for a contribution to the costs from the parents of those chosen to go. If the parents do not pay the child does not go as it is not an educational trip. However we are generally lenient and if a parent tells us they cannot afford an optional trip we will sort something out. Same as if Film Club goes to the cinema, parents are asked to pay. At the end of the day if not enough people pay the trip cannot happen.
It is to a free tourist attraction all of 7 miles away so they are way overcharging for the trip.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -
Is there anyway you could have offered some monies toward the trip ?
If we had been paid then I would pay the contribution as asked but we do not have ANY money, MIL has kindly fed us the past few days.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0
