No Lawrence, a team went unbeaten and swept all before them, he just couldn't bring himself to acknowledge it.

Shearer's claim that England are the 5th/6th best team in the world is beyond laughable.

People with such poor knowledge of the global football situation shouldn't be involved in punditry at international competitions.

The Welsh never qualify for any footy comp, therefore, I tend to want/support the side/s who play the most attractive football, recently that has been Germany and/or Spain.

I wanted Italy to win because even before the game the other night, to me, there was a clear gulf in class, and so it proved.

I wanted to watch Germany v Italy in the semi, a mouth watering prospect, purely for the class that will be on show.

I'm not English and their football team are average at best.

Why would I want to see more of that over a higher quality?

England are ranked 6th in the official FIFA rankings.

I know next to nothing about football and even I could see that Italy were by far the better side! I'm sure some were cheering against England for other reasons though.

Perhaps my other post should have read...

"You're not [Insert any other nationality here] either so why were so many hoping [Insert any other country here] would win"
