English Football Commentators

Just a quick query, do the english football commentators annoy english folks as much as they do the Scottish and presumably the rest of the UK people?
Im scottish and sat down yesterday to watch the footy, and even though im in the tartan army, thought id quite like england to go thorugh here for some strange reason.
However by the end of the game i was eating pizza wrapped in an italy flag and jumping off the sofa in joy when Cole missed that penalty, nothing to do with England the country or even the team, but because of the Commentators.
The bias was unbelievable, any time an italian went down the 2 commentators were labelling them a cheat and an actor, boots in the head (accidental) were strangely not seen by lauro and Guy as they suggested the boy wasnt touched, yet when ashley young dives to bafta winning standard nothing is mentioned.
The slagging off of some of the italian players was also shocking, in particular in relation to the "west ham reject" as Guy kindly refered to him, the player who bossed the game when he came on and scored the winning penalty ironically, this constant bias, doubled up with Mark lawerenson's cringy attempts at humour must have made it hard for anyone who is not english to not have raised a wee smile when Italy finally won.
Was just wondering if this was purely a non english hate, or do these muppets annoy you guys as much as they do the rest of the country?

Lawrenson is an awful commentator. Nearly as bad as he is a pundit.0

I thought the same thing. I'm Welsh so didn't really want England to win. The bias was unbelievable. I understand the commentators are English and want them to do well and a small amount of bias would have been acceptable but not the level it was.0

I'm English and agree with the OP.
The England team were rubbish, but they wouldn't say so.

That's nice of you! There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
I thought they were pretty awful too. They were well too biased for people who were meant to be reporting on the game. I thought there was a lot of diving from both teams, a number of players went down clutching various body parts when very little contact (if any) was made.
Had England organised the penalties a little better they'd have gone through but thats football for you.0 -

Maybe you should listen to Jonathan Davies in the 6 Nations if you want unbelievable bias !!0 -

ITV, though. They're historically not as good as the BBC ones. However there sdeems to be a dearth of truly excellent commentators on either channel at the moment.0 -
It's the commentators who destroy the game IMO. I always watch with the sound off.0

I try to, but when my fella's round watching he likes to argue with them.
I have nothing against England or the English, being a Jock with English children, but I can't wait for England to go out of comps just in the hope that the commentators will stop being so biased.
Agree with the Davis comment too btw.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0
